Personal Scripture Study Habits For each of the following statements, rate yourself based on the following scale: 1 = Never 2 = Some of the time 3 = About half of the time 4 = Almost always I pray and ask Heavenly Father to bless me with the Spirit when I study the scriptures. Sometimes I study the scriptures topically in order to increase my understanding of specific doctrines or spiritual truths. I act on what I learn during the day. I use scripture study aids like footnotes, the Topical Guide, and the Bible Dictionary to help me understand scripture passages. I mark the scriptures in a way that helps me remember impor- tant things I have learned. I strive to understand what I read rather than just read the words.
