Live the Liturgy - Inspiration for the Week If we continue to journey through life without genuine self-knowledge, without knowing how our

relationships ought to be ordered and what truth is, the path we walk will always be only dimly lit. In fact,

when we make the wrong choices or find ourselves forgetting who we are, we can easily find ourselves in

darkness. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him

might not perish but might have Eternal Life." Jesus is the Light that came into the darkness. It is not enough

for us to simply believe that Jesus is the Christ but we must live our lives in witness to this Truth. The choices

we make and the priorities we establish are going to either speak of someone who really does not care,

someone who is confused, or someone who is wholeheartedly convinced of God's love. Which are you?

Annual Day of Penance - March 14 During the Year of the Eucharist, prepare for the

gift of the altar through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Confessions will be heard throughout the Diocese of

Rochester on Wednesday, March 14th. Check individual

churches for their specific schedule. Here at St.

Stanislaus, confessions will be from 3:00 p.m. til 7:30

p.m. For more details and for ways to prepare for the

Sacrament check out http://forgiven.dor.org. Copies of

an Examination of Conscience for Adults, Teens and

Children are available near each of the confessionals.

Stations of the Cross During Lent we are praying Stations of the Cross

every Friday, immediately after the 6:00 p.m. Mass.

Stations of the Cross will be prayed in English

language: March 16 and in Polish language: March 23.

Fourth Sunday of Lent

We might think of candles and light more

during the Advent season than during Lent, due to

Advent wreaths, candles in windows, and the light

of a star. But the real focus on light, as seen in this

week's Gospel, is during Lent, when we prepare for

Easter and Jesus' triumphant Rising from the dead.

It is in this game-changing event that the Light of

Christ destroys the power of darkness.

If you have never been to an Easter Vigil, why not plan on

attending this year? The theme of light is so prevalent, with

processional candles everywhere and the new Paschal candle

being lit for the first time. The candle is then plunged into the

Baptismal Font before it is used for Sacraments, breaking into the

darkness of our sin. Through these waters, men and women will

be washed clean and the darkness they were born into will exist

no more. Their blindness of Original Sin will be healed and they

will not only be able to see, they will be new creations in Christ.

This Lent, before it is all over, spend time in prayer and use

a candle to focus. Reflect on your life and determine what areas

you need the Light of Christ to shine. Then when Easter comes,

know that the One Who is the Light is shining brighter than ever

so that that you may be in darkness no more.

IV Niedziela Wielkiego Postu Dzisiejsza Ewangelia przedstawia rozmowę Jezusa z

Nikodemem.

powierzono. W czasie naszego postu pamiętajmy o tych, którzy

są w potrzebie naszej pomocy.
