Mission statement• My magazine will consist of both the uprising niche rap artists of todays society mixed with the already lyrical

geniuses; I have decided to focus on my second most popular choice (based on my questionnaire) of the underground rap style. I choose underground as UK hip-hop, unless focusing strongly on niche artists (which would make my target audience smaller) would be boring to write about as all UK “grime” artists have similar rap flow.

• I’m focusing on this style as it is the most niche/out-casted rap style and is usually forgotten about; the style is stereotyped to be associated with “gangsters” who do nothing but sell drugs and kill people, although in fact there are numerous underground rap artists from Brooklyn who empathise and rap about other people who struggle like they did before their career took off.

• My magazine aims to the audience of 16+ males although this doesn’t disregard a females choice to read it also; although I have decided not to include any female artists as I personally know of females who admire the male rappers who will be included in my music magazine and there aren’t enough underground female rappers to create a structured magazine.

• As for the content of my magazine I will aim to inform and entertain my readers with the personal life of any rappers included in my magazine; this is due to personal preference and luckily by popular demand. (referring to my questionnaire) I may also aim to include my second popular choice of their back story or more specifically “how they made it”. I aim to inform my readers about the real life a rapper lives and used to live for any other niche aspiring rappers to prove they could make their dream of a rapper come true.

• My magazine will be sold monthly due to the amount of editorial content included in each issue, it will be sold at a cheap price of £1.50 due to the target age being young. (considering youths want something to read that’s affordable for any class)

• It will be sold in most local stores and corner stores with access to other media platforms such as social media (Facebook/twitter/Instagram pages) or a blogging website (free for anyone to review or put up their own blog replies to stay in contact), this is due to the uprising population of technophiles considering my target age.

Mood-board• My mood board in the next slide should give a small overview of

what my readers interests would be; displaying different rappers and different activities.

• It also includes an image illustrating “Indigoism” which in short means that you were born unique (or with special traits). I have placed this here to reach out to any disabled audience members to show that they are accepted; further widening my target audience. Some people further believe indigoism to be a religion which defines your intuitive mind and free spirit; which in short means I do not target small/close minded teens who only wish to see women and drugs in a rappers music videos.

• There is no gender specific images in my mood wall as it all consists of clothing lines, rap artists or food; who doesn’t like pizza and bacon.
