The vision of this ministry is to touch the francophone nation of Quebec with the love of God, in the Name of Jesus, in order to see a multitude of Quebec people come hear the Word of Faith which we preach (Romans 10:8).

Québec ever since we were saved. We have also seen the province of Quebec referred to as the largest mission field in North America due to only 0.5% claiming Jesus to be their Lord and Saviour. That would surely be a result of the rebellion that followed centuries of religious rule over the people of Québec—they went from one extreme to the other. Now, it appears that most people do not attend church at all. Our desire is to connect with people, to share the gospel message of salvation (John 3:16)and to create a community of believers that fellowships regularly together (Hebrews 10:25).

The ReasonThe Foundation

The ReasonFaith & Sozo

Sozo is the Greek word used in the gospel for denoting all of the following: to save (spiritual and eternal salvation), to heal (saving from disease and its effects), to recover (including to restore health), to deliver from the bondage to sin, to deliver from danger or from suffering (to provide escape or to bring to safety), to deliver believers from the wrath of God (the second coming), to deliver the nation of Israel (the second advent), to protect those who endure during the time of tribulation, to make whole (to save thoroughly), to preserve the salvation of all believers, and to bestow all the blessings of God in Christ to believers so they prosper and succeed in that which is good. (Vine’s Greek New Testament Dictionary) Believers these days are not always proficient at living in the wholeness that stems from their relationship with Jesus Christ. That wholeness includes the love of God, divine health, freedom, prosperity, spiritual growth by the manifestation of the anointing of the Holy Spirit, living faith, and eternal life. In order to receive all that God intended for us to have upon our salvation, we are required to use faith. Faith is believing the substance of the Word of God (Hebrews 11:1), things that we don’t necessarily see. When we believe something that God says in the Bible, we are in agreement with Him. That puts us in position to receive what it is we believe (Mark 11:23-24), which comprises all that which God has intended for us. We seek to train believers to seize, by faith, all that salvation has to offer them, especially by the demonstration of the living Word of an all-mighty, living God that loves us infinitely.

The word “radical” doesn’t mean crazy, it means deeply rooted. If we want a big tree, we shall need huge roots: then will we bear fruit, to the glory of God (John 15:8). If we want to grow big spiritually, we need to be firmly rooted in the Word of God. The foundation of our ministry is the Word of Faith from the Bible. We carry a message of salvation that amplifies the wholeness intended by the original words in the Bible, especially the Greek verb “sozo” and the Hebrew word “shalom”. Our workshops are specially designed to highlight different aspects of the word “sozo” according to the needs of the participants. Further details are provided below. We also emphasize the importance of faith, especially since it is impossible to please God without it (Hebrews 11:6) and since the just shall live by faith (Hebrews 10:38). The people in the time of the Bible knew so many more things about the goodness of God than our generations because they understood the deeper meanings of the original words. Now, our desire is to educate people about what the Bible really says. Our teaching focuses attention on the way God intended us to function in His Kingdom : by faith.

The Place

We are fulfilling the great commission when we go to the nations to preach the good news of salvation. Our decision to obey the call of God to expand His Kingdom to the francophone nation of Quebec brought us to the greater Montreal area, comprising nearly 4 million people, since we seek to draw from the largest population base possible. Just the same, moving right into the big city did not witness to us so we realized we’d have to choose between one of the many suburbs of Montreal. From there, we made the decision to move north of the metropolis in order to avoid competing against similar ministries with which we are familiar. We embarked on several scouting mission trips to check out our many choices. Prayerfully considering those communities to the north, we found Mascouche to meet all our basic needs for planting a church. Strategically, Mascouche is a city that is right in the middle of Laval, the Mirabel airport, the Laurentides (Rawdon) and Repentigny (see map), which allows us to reach out to a large variety of people from all walks and backgrounds. Central to 270,000 people within a 20 km radius, it certainly has the population base we require. Being a city of innovation, its economy is prosperous and shows ever-expanding growth. It offers many commercial enterprises, meaning we will easily be able to find a location to begin with. Just the same, the city does not offer much in terms of churches that preach a solid foundation of Bible-based faith, so we identified a need we can meet in that area. Mascouche is a very old community, so it clearly represents the Quebec population as a whole. The seigniorial system was established there in 1647; more colonization occurred in 1717; the parish (the equivalent of a county in other parts of North America) began in 1750; and the city was created in 1970. History continues as many families descending from the original inhabitants are still there. Mascouche is completely independent and viable. It is within reach of the big metropolis yet maintains the charm of country life with huge green spaces, a river, parks, and even the availablity of estate style neighborhoods with nearly an acre for a yard. That type of community is regaining popularity with Quebec people, so continued growth is imminent. Also, with its established and future public transportation, commutable travel time, and its location at the intersection of two major highways, it is a perfect city for those who don’t want to live in Montreal, but want to go into it for various purposes. In summary, the community of Mascouche meets all the basic needs for our ministry to plant a church: population base, physical space, need for a church, and accessibility to others living in surrounding communities.

Timeline

The Plan

We look up to God for full provision for our ministry work! So far, we have travelled extensively to build relationships and to establish a network among faith workers sent to the francophones of Quebec. We have also begun translation of faith resources into French in order to establish a French language faith resource centre, and as our team grows, our work will proceed faster. We are also in the process of establishing a centre for biblically sound, spiritual training in the form of weekly, biweekly, and monthly meetings plus monthly workshops to glorify God. Details are provided in the explanation of the timeline below. Since we plan to go with the flow, the timeline is wavy to indicate it is not bound to specified dates. We expect to offer some form of Bible training over the Internet using new technology. We also expect to offer an annual conference to further train pastors and other people interested in ministering the Word of God to others. We will also connect with other ministries that reach out to francophone nations all over the world.

The first step our ministry is taking towards planting a church in Mascouche is to have weekly Bible meetings to dig into the word of God. At the same time, monthly workshops will take place to provide a full day of teaching on one aspect of salvation, such as freedom from bondage to sin or healing. Those workshops will be open to the general public and will rotate through the different subjects so that any starting point is possible. A second weekly meeting will be added to maintain spiritual growth of all participants. Through the process of Bible teaching, a core group of believers will emerge and form the team for the actual church plant. As musicians join the group, monthly praise and worship meetings will begin. At that point, we will be in a position to launch a new church with weekly fellowship meetings.
