Dean’s List National College’s Danville, Lexington, and Richmond Campuses (www.national-college.edu) and the American National University online program released the Dean's List for the First Fall Term. Teresa Messinger and Renee Pruitt, both of Mt. Vernon, earned a minimum grade point av- erage of 3.5 out of a possible 4.0, and thus achieved the honor and privilege of being placed on the Dean’s List. Submitted by: Brianna Mink On Thursday, October 24th, the Rockcastle County FFA chapter traveled to EKU in Richmond to com- pete in various contests. Jared Robinson com- peted in the Junior Division Tractor Driving placing re- gional 1st. Christian Sagraves competed in the Senior Division Tractor Driving competition. The Land Judging team also competed at the Regional Contest and those members were James Clay Ballinger, David Gabbard, and Curtis FFA competes at EKU in Fall Regional Contest Miller. Curtis Miller placed regional high-individual and he also received the highest score that Rockcastle has ever had in the Land Judg- ing competition. The Rockcastle County FFA chapter also competed in the Junior Varsity Parlia- mentary Procedure Contest and placed regional 1st place and go on and com- pete in the spring regional contest. Those members were: president- Mahala Saylor, Vice-President- Allison Renner, Secretary- Michaela Barron, Treasurer- Sarah Poynter, Reporter- Caleb Kirby, Sentinel- Cory Ratliff, and the Members were Lanna Prewitt, Caleb Ballinger, Jennifer Mercer and Lance Isaacs. The alter- nate Junior Varsity Parlia- mentary Procedure team was Paul Holbrook, Andrew Ponder, Dalton Killen, Dylon Robinson, Autumn Kirby, Trevor Sweet, Jacob Blair, Tara Mink, William Daughtery, Mariana Blevins, and Lindsey Harrison. Congratulations to all who competed. Approximately 250 tal- ented musicians from nearly 50 high schools and middle schools, mostly in Ken- tucky, will be “Marching Colonels for a Day” on Sat- urday, Nov. 16. Among them will the Rockcastle County Middle School. The students will spend the entire day on the East- RCMS to participate in Marching Colonels for a Day ern Kentucky University campus, rehearse with the Marching Colonels, march to the stadium, take part in the band’s tailgate perfor- mance and join the EKU musicians for a special Veteran’s Day tribute at halftime of a football game against visiting UT-Martin. “They’ll experience the excitement of game day as Minds in the Middle Parent-Teacher confer- ences are Thursday after school until 5:30.
