Microtrenching is the optimal solution for deploying bothaccess- and backbone in especially urban areas all in onlyone handling.

Once the machine and the scheduling technique is fully de-

veloped and fine-tuned, our estimate is, that four men, workingin asphalt or concrete,could lay as much as 400-500meters perday.

GMPLASTis involved in tests in Ireland, Germany, France,Norway, Portugal, Israel, Malaysia and Iran and with the currentrate, we believe that 2012 will be the major breakthrough forthis technique. In order to be able to accommodate the varyingneeds from job to job, GMPLAST is working on developing thenecessary machinery with 3 different manufacturers.The widthand depth of the vertical cut is depending on whether the pur-

pose is backbone, access networks, or both.

Flatliner is perfect for microtrenching because it is flex-ible in deployment but stiff and stable on edge.

GMPLASTalready has more than 25 km Flatlinerimple-mented in microtrenching, and 4-5 projects in the planning. Aprevailing trend is the Comboflatliner, where Backbone andAccess tubes are combined in the same line. It saves time andallows a good soil compaction or fillers. On the subsequentpages are shown a series of pictures from various pilot projectsin several cases more kilometers long.

In order to constantly be on top of the game,being thebest we can be, we aim to gather information andexperience from as many sources as possible. That is whywe prefer to work with a wide range of machinery.

At the moment we work with the three machines seenon this page. They all have have a different approach to thetask, but their common goal is to put FTTH into ground in aeasy, safe and cost-efficient manner as possible.

What they all came up with was Microtrenching, withvariations of course, since they all have different premisesconcerning underground , civic demands and legislationsetc.

nursing and a lot of helping along in order to be adapted

into the market.This is why we have decided to start the

GM Micro Trenching Academy.

The main purpose is to evolve and refine our own

knowledge , in order to secure and strengthen our posi-tion as market leader and first-mover in an ever changing

market.

Secondly we will also be able to offer schooling and su-

pervision to various microtrenching projects. Both here

at our testcenter in Hedensted, but also on-site in most

parts of the world.

We will be able to demonstrate and work with a various

range of different brands of Microtrenching machinery,

all acording to specified needs and problems.

FLATLINER- regular Flatliner can be both traditionally

trenched or microtrenched.

For areas where trenching is not possible we designed

AERIAL FLATLINER which can be hanged to ensure

the connection.
