Please DO NOT come in on the Monday night before, because we will not be able to house you and you will need to make those arrangements on you own.

DRIVING – Eastern Nazarene College address:23 E Elm Ave, Quincy, MA 02170

FLYING – Please book your flight to arrive before 4:00pm, Tuesday, May 19th. You will want to fly into Logan International Airport (BOS), which is 20 minutes from Eastern Nazarene College campus.

After booking your flights, please email me your itinerary: [email protected]

Note: Before exiting your airport terminal, be sure to stop at one of the Charlie Card booths (they are generally located near the exit doors). There, you will want to purchase a ticket by following the directions on the screen. The fare is $2.00 each way, so if you are planning a return trip, it is best to purchase a ticket for $4.00. Your fare will cover you upon transferring lines, so you do not need to worry about purchasing additional tickets.

***IF YOU HAVE NEVER TRAVELED ON PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION BEFORE AND IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO FREAK YOU OUT, THAT IS OK. PLEASE CONTACT ME (606-469-7983) AND I WILL EITHER PICK YOU UP FROM THE AIRPORT OR I WILL HELP CORRDINATE YOUR ARRIVAL WITH SOMEONE ELSE SO YOU CAN TRAVEL TOGETHER TO THE CAMPUS.

After purchasing your ticket, you will exit the terminal and follow signs directing you to the SILVER LINE. The Silver Line (SL1) bus will take you to South Station, where you will transfer to the RED LINE. Upon exiting the bus, you will want to follow signs to RED LINE – BRAINTREE which will direct you to the platform for all outbound trains. When the train arrives, you will want to ensure that its destination is BRAINTREE by observing the front and side screens on the train. DO NOT TAKE A TRAIN TO ASHMONT. Once you are on the BRAINTREE train, you will ride for 5 stops, exiting at WOLLASTON.

ENC is a ten-minute walk from the Wollaston "T" stop. Upon exiting the train, go down the stairs and out the doors located to the left. Walk through the parking lot toward the CVS visible ahead and to the right. The road which borders the T parking lot to the right and passes by CVS is Beale Street; upon reaching Beale, turn left and follow Beale to the first large intersection (Hancock Street). Turn right onto Hancock. Continue past Dunkin Donuts and turn left onto Elm Avenue across from Friendly's, and 7-11. Follow Elm Avenue for several blocks until the road splits. Bear right onto East Elm Avenue (the Nease Library is on the corner of Elm and East Elm Avenues) and proceed through the main gate.ENC can also be reached by the #212 North Quincy bus which stops at the Elm Avenue side of the college's Nease Library. Call the MBTA at 1-800-392-6100 or 617-222-3200. You can also visit www.mbta.com for schedules.

NOTE . . . You will be free to leave anytime on Tuesday, June 9th after 11am for your travel to your home.

HOUSING AND MEALS

The project will be housed at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. Eastern Nazarene will provide you with all of your linens, blankets, etc. They will provide you with excellent dorm food, which is included in your registration. Meals begin with dinner on Tuesday, the first day of our project, and end with breakfast on the last day (July 15 th).

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BRING

For the first week (Ultimate Training Camp): Our dress is very casual. Please bring enough workout gear for five days of competition. You will also want to bring a sweatshirt or a light jacket for the nights, which can get fairly cool as well as a pair of jeans, etc. Please bring your own water bottle, ankle and knee wraps if you need them, athletic tape, sunscreen, a modest one piece swimsuit, and your own Bible. Also bring a running type shoe and a basketball shoe for volleyball and basketball. Please bring your family’s updated insurance information in case of an emergency. You will not be allowed to participate in any athletic event without your insurance information.

Besides that, just pack as you normally would for a three week trip. We will be spending time on campuses and around the city.

Here are a few items that would be good to include in your luggage:

SunscreenBackpackNotebookModest swimsuitChurch clothes (for church on Sundays)Soap and ShampooClothes HangersBeach TowelLaundry Bag

WORKOUT FACILITIES

There is a weight room and athletic fields to work out while you are on campus. There will be free time to workout if you desire to every morning. Typically, most days will start around 11am with actually teaching so you will have all of that time before hand to train/workout. I would strongly suggest that you do a little running before you come to our UTC to be in decent shape due the competition that you will be experiencing.

INVITING YOUR TEAMMATES FROM YOUR OWN CAMPUS AND OTHER CAMPUSES

Many of your friends and teammates from your own team and athletic department or even other campuses may consider coming to the Boston Project knowing that you are going and that you invited them to COME WITH YOU! Your relationship with your friends could make the difference in whether they come and experience the same great three weeks that you will. We, as your AIA staff, look forward to meeting you and spending time with you! We hope to make you feel at home. Spending three weeks here in Boston with men and women athletes from all over the country that you can relate to will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SERVING YOU!
