Microsoft Lync 2010: Introduction to the new instant messaging (IM) and

conferencing software

ESADE is currently working on a project to improve communications between campuses and the E-mail service for the entire community.

The main advantages of using Lync 2010 are that it allows you to:

Hold conferences via chat, voice and video with people at ESADE or elsewhere,

saving you time and travel expenses.

Schedule online meetings with a single click in Microsoft Outlook.

Use the presence indicator to see when your contacts are online and available.

Share programmes, PowerPoint presentations, a whiteboard and polls, obtaining

results in real time.

Create simultaneous conferences with up to 250 people maximum.

Lync 2010 also lets you connect from practically anywhere and with any device (PC,

laptop, tablet and smartphone) and most web browsers, all without having to install any software.

Lync 2010 can be accessed via your smartphone or tablet thanks to a dedicated application you will have to download and install.

The Microsoft Lync 2010 app is available for the following mobile device operating

systems:

iOS (iPhone and iPad with iOS 4.3 or higher)

Android (version 2.3 or higher)

Windows Phone (versions 7.5 and 8)

Symbian (Nokia)

NOTE: The following services are available with the Lync App for mobile devices:
