WHO IS MICHELLE OBAMA?

Michelle Obama is the 44th First Lady of the United States of America. She has started many organizations to help inform people about childhood obesity. Michelle Obama is my hero because she has helped so many family's and children to prevent childhood obesity.

CHILDHOOD

She was born on January 17, 1964- age 50

She lived in a one bedroom apartment in Chicago.

She had a brother named Craig

Her Father, Fraser Robinson was a city pump operator and a Democratic precinct captain

Her Mother, Marian Robinson was a Spiegel's secretary who later stayed home as a stay at home mom



FAMILY

She is married to Barack Obama

She has 2 daughters, Sasha is 14, and Melia is 11

EDUCATION

Attended gifted classed at Bryn Mawr Elementary school ( later named Bouchet Academy)

She went to Whitney Young High School where she took advanced classes and was the student council treasurer

Attended Princeton University Bachelor of Arts degree

Harvard law school and got her juris Doctor degree



HOW SHE MET BARACK

Michelle Obama worked in the Chicago branch of the law firm Sidney Austin in the area of marketing and intellectual property.

In 1989 she met Barack Obama and when Barack became president, she was named First Lady of the United States of America.



HER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

She started many amazing organizations to help teach people about childhood obesity

She is the first First Lady to have a garden after Eleanor Roosevelt



LET'S MOVE

In 2010 she started an organization called "Let's Move!" Let's move teaches kids and their family's how to eat right and exercise.

Let's move also makes sure that schools are serving healthy school lunches with fruits and vegetables.
