Although my position was a regular State of Georgia position, it has been funded for the past 3 years by federal Race to the Top funds that ended June 30, 2014. My last position was with the GA Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) as the IT Director, responsible for planning and managing in-house application development projects, with a technical staff of 16 members. I’ve been responsible for the complete project life-cycle oversight. This responsibility includes the interpretation of the grant award, business processes into a sound application workflow, design and best practices. Additionally, I’ve developed the GaPSC agency-wide Social Networking/Media activities, including policy creation and documentation, and represented the agency serving on the State of Georgia, Social Guru Task Force. I have 21 years of IT experience with 17 years of consulting & management experience with several consulting firms, the U.S. Air Force & the U.S. Department of Defense. Previous roles include leadership roles with the State of Georgia’s Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) and IBM, managing infrastructure & IT-service management process improvement projects, including the Office of Planning & Budgets (OPB) data center relocation project; to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) CBT Upgrade project; the State Accounting Office (SAO) Oracle-Solaris Upgrade project, Secretary of State’s Voter Registration conversion, and a PeopleSoft expansion project, and the Department of Human Resources’ Georgia Registry Immunization Tracking System (GRITS) projects. Previously employed by Keane, Inc. at Crawford & Company, GA Division of Public Health, EDS, Andersen Consulting, LLP, IXL and Decision Systems Technologies, Inc., US Air Force and the US Department of Defense. All my professional experiences have encompassed variations of project management, system's conversions and implementation, strategic planning, training, proposal development, technical writing, business analysis and resource management. In 2010, my professional experiences and networking resulted in the creation of StreetLight PR & Management, an entertainment management, public relations, marketing and social networking business. As the Owner-Manager, I’ve managed, booked and provided social media services and PR to a HGTV personality, bands, authors, politicians, and small businesses. Duties include the creation and maintenance of social media pages, specials events planning, and campaigns.
