Racing returns to Meydan on Thursday October 24, with the first meeting of our 2019-2020 season.An evening at the races promises an exciting mix of first-rate hospitality, the thrill of on-track action and stylish race day fashion. These meetings continue right into April and offer our race day crowds the chance to catch our locally-trained Thoroughbreds and Purebred Arabians in action.

Thursday, January 2, 2020 signals the start of the Dubai World Cup Carnival when Dubai Racing Club plays host to some of the top names in international racing from all over the world. This is high stakes racing, with up to US$1m available in prize money at a single meeting, attracting racing’s jet set owners, trainers and jockeys. Race day style also ramps up a notch as the racing frenzy builds towards the season finale with Dubai World Cup – the richest day of racing on the planet.

With US$35m prize money available across nine races, including US$12m at stake in the title contest, the Dubai World Cup trophy is one of the most coveted on the international calendar and attracts the absolute cream of world-class racing.

The fashion stakes are also high with elegant ladies and gentlemen vying for the title of ‘Best Dressed’ in the popular Meydan Style Stakes competition. Hats and fascinators are the order of the day as the crowds in the 60,000-seater Grandstand enjoy Dubai’s biggest sporting and social spectacle from Meydan’s luxurious hospitality venues.

With 23 race meetings staged between October and April, Meydan Racecourse offers something for every budget - from free entry to the absolute last word in race night hospitality - as well as stylish, intimate suites and flexible venues for tailor-made corporate events.

While it makes headlines for the world-famous race days it hosts, Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand also represents a major business and conference venue and one of Dubai’s premier lifestyle, entertainment and sports destinations.

Combined with The Meydan Hotel, the world’s first five-star trackside hotel, Meydan offers a purpose-built events space and the flexibility to transform it from a conference or exhibition space to a concert venue, film shoot location and everything in between.

The architecturally fascinating Sky Bubble draws the eye from miles away and offers guests 360° views of Dubai from its giant triangular windows while below, The Apron, which becomes the party scene during Dubai World Cup, hosts large-scale concerts and festivals throughout the year.

The Meydan Grandstand houses 78 suites that can be individually tailored to suit any occasion. Intimate groups of minimum ten can enjoy a stylish evening in a single suite, or the space can be expanded to comfortably cater up to 500 guests in five-star luxury surroundings.

Dubai World Cup Carnival Super Saturday - Saturday, March 7

The official dress rehearsal for the Dubai World Cup, Super Saturday is held three weeks before the world’s richest race day and offers a cool US$2.65m in prize money. A world-class race meeting in its own right, Super Saturday consists of two Group 1 races, one Group 2, three Group 3 outings and a Listed contest. Astute racegoers use the opportunity to study some of the contenders heading for the Dubai World Cup while fashionistas seize the chance to try out early style ideas before the big day.

Breakfast with the Stars - Thursday, March 26

Staged on Meydan Racecourse’s Apron during morning track-work, this exciting event features live commentary, entertainment, raffle draws, interviews and a lavish buffet. The exclusive breakfast gives attendees a chance to watch the Dubai World Cup contenders work out on the track ahead of the big day.

Dubai World Cup - Saturday, March 28

The highlight of Dubai’s sporting and social calendar, the Dubai World Cup is the climax of the Meydan racing season and attracts the best horses and riders from all over the world. Yet, it’s not just horse connections that make the trip to Dubai; with the added attraction of the Dubai World Cup Ceremony, racegoers also fly in from all over the globe to enjoy the unique spectacle that is the Dubai World Cup.

Meydan Racecourse is situated in an ideal location, just 10 minutes from Dubai World Trade Centre and 17 minutes from Mall of the Emirates, offering easy access for all visitors.

There are signpost references at the second interchange of Sheikh Zayed Road and at the Al Ain-Hatta intersection.

By Road

From Dubai or Abu Dhabi, on the Sheikh Zayed Road, please take Exit 47, then turn onto Al Meydan Road D69 towards Nad Al Sheba, and follow the signs to Meydan Racecourse, and The Meydan Hotel.

From Al Ain, on Dubai-Al Ain Road, please take Exit 7, then head towards the Nad Al Sheba direction on Al Meydan Road D69 (South), and follow the signs to Meydan Racecourse, and The Meydan Hotel.

RTA operates a taxi service from the Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand with the drop-off and pick-up point located outside Gate B, a few steps away from the action.

General Admission*During the race season, admission is free at Gate B and gives all guests and children (including those under the age of five years old in pushchairs or strollers) access to a large number of available seats boasting excellent views, within a limited section of the Meydan Grandstand.

With sufficient room on the vast Apron area between the track and the Grandstand, visitors on the sides of the Apron can get a closer look at the thoroughbreds in the Parade Ring, before and after the race.

A variety of food and beverage outlets are available on the Mezzanine Floor in the purposely-designed food court area with dining tables. All the food and drinks on the premises must be bought from one of the outlets within the Meydan Grandstand. Visitors are not permitted to bring their own food and drinks.

Admission gates open from 5:00pm (6:30pm post time) on Thursday and Friday evenings and from 1:30pm/2:30pm (3:00pm/4:00pm post time) on Saturday afternoons. Please refer to the race calendar on page 9 for specific dates.

Sponsors and Grandstand Suite PatronsA number of Grandstand Suites are allocated to sponsors and hospitality patrons. Tickets will be issued individually, and will indicate the name of the suite. All ticket patrons will be permitted access to the individual facility named on the ticket.

Access to the GrandstandWe recommend you display your ticket at all times, as security personnel monitor access to and from the hospitality areas. If you wish to leave the facility and return, you will be required to show your ticket to the security.

Lost and Found All lost and found items will be handed in to the Information Booth at Gate A. For enquiries about lost and found items after the race meeting, contact the Bur Dubai Police Station on +971 4 398 1111.

Race CoverageYou won’t miss a moment of the action with television monitors throughout all of the facilities. You can also experience the action from around the track as it happens on the world’s longest LED screen at the Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand.

Ramp up race day excitement by entering Meydan’s free prediction competitions for the chance to win cash prizes.

Pick 6

Players should predict the winners for the six races identified on the Pick 6 entry form and submit it in the designated competition boxes situated around the Grandstand.

Superfecta

This is played on the fifth race of the evening’s race programme. If the player predicts the first four finishers in the official order, they stand to win a cash prize.

Triple Tricast

The objective of the Triple Tricast is to predict the first three finishers in the official order for two consecutive races. There are three Tricasts on each race night, the Early Tricast, the Middle Tricast and the Late Tricast.

Super Hi-5

Players need to select the first five finishers in the official order for the last race to qualify for a cash prize.

The entry forms are available at the admission gates, while the competition details are listed in the evening’s race programme. Entries close 15 minutes prior to the 1st race for 6-race meetings or 15 minutes prior to the 2nd race for 7-race meetings. Entrants who select the winners of each race are eligible for cash prizes. In the event of more than one winner, a draw will take place and the prize money will be divided. Winners will be notified by SMS and the winning numbers will appear on the LED screen. Winners must claim their prize on the race night from the Meydan Reward Centre located on Level 1, Concourse B.

How many races are there at each race meeting? You will get to experience the thrill of six or seven races at each race meeting, run at 35 minute intervals. Gates open 90 minutes before the post time of the first race. It is recommended that you arrive at the Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand 30 minutes before the first race to allow time to find parking, reach your desired hospitality area, and complete the Pick 6 competition entry form which must be handed in 15 minutes prior to the 1st race for 6-race meetings or 15 minutes prior to the 2nd race for 7-race meetings.

What are the hospitality package timings? For racegoers who have opted for one of the many hospitality offers, these packages last for a period of four hours. Please refer to pages 30 - 33 for further information on the exciting hospitality packages available at Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand.

What competitions can I enter on a race meeting? All racegoers have the opportunity to participate in the prediction games, which include Pick 6, Triple Tricast, Super Hi-5, and Superfecta. Entry for each of the competitions is free of charge with the chance to win cash prizes. All winners must claim their prize on the race day from the Meydan Reward Centre located on Level 1, Concourse B. Winners will be notified via SMS and must be present at the venue to claim the prize money. For further information on competitions, please refer to page 40. All the rules and regulations for the competitions are included in the race programme.

Will I be able to purchase food in the Grandstand? Yes, there is a food court located on the Mezzanine Floor of the Grandstand and racegoers can purchase food and beverages from a selection of multi-cuisine food outlets.

Where can I purchase official merchandise? An exclusive range of official merchandise is available from the Souvenirs & Gifts Shop located at Concourse B, and from the Merchandise Pavilion at Concourse A, within the Meydan Grandstand.

Is there a dedicated area for children within the Grandstand? Meydan Racecourse and Grandstand has a number of dedicated places especially for children that ensure a great family day out.

Kids Zone - Food Court Mezzanine Floor - This fun area offers arts and crafts stations, and games and toys for kids aged two to ten.

Kids Zone - The Premium Level 1, Concourse A - This area includes arts and crafts stations, an arcade machine and engaging board games for kids aged five and above.

Games Zone - Food Court Mezzanine Floor - This dedicated Games Zone is suitable for kids of all ages, with various arcade games to keep them entertained throughout the race meeting.
