Metamark products prove diversity

In providing solutions for two very different

applications, Metamark has proved it’s ability

to cross sector boundaries.

Allspeed Signs placed its faith in Meta-

mark’s products when they were approached

by Magic Car Body Repair, with a view to

commissioning an attractive van livery. As a

vehicle care business, Magic’s work involves

improving the appearance of vans, meaning

the livery advertising had to be nothing less

than perfect.

“At the end of the day,” says Allspeed’s

John Knight, “this was a livery that simply had to

be spot on. We trusted Metamark media with the

job of bringing the design to life and we waved

the vehicle goodbye with confidence, know-

ing the customer was happy with our work.”

To complete the order, Allspeed selected the

combination of Metamark MD7, laminated

with the wrapping film’s matching MG900

laminate, and Metamark ‘ClearVision’ win-

dow materials, which advertise the business to

those following the vehicle whilst providing a

clear view out for those inside it.

The Magic vehicle livery design uses light

and dark areas balanced with pictorial ele-

ments, which, combined with crisply defined

text, is all set to raise the company’s profile.

In a markedly different area of the market,

Bridgend-based Elite Signs and Graphics also

called on Metamark’s products to fulfil a

tricky order.

Elite’s client in this case was a gift shop

based in West Wales’ Newquay, Ocean Blue.

Ocean Blue came to Elite with ideas of

weathered wood contrasting with its crisply

rendered trading name over the top of the

shop’s entrance and spanning the shop’s

frontage. The quote for the work was more

than expected, with the wood commanding a

big slice of the cost.

A creative solution was required; rather

than fabricate the proposed wooden parts of

the sign, Elite suggesting printing them.

Simon James and the team chose to employ

Metamark’s MD5-A reference-quality media

and its matching satin MG700 laminate,

which they printed with Ecosol MAX inks,

using their Roland XC540.

Using a reference sample of imaged wood,

the printer produced metres of wood-effect

material, suitably toughened up with the high-

ly resistant laminate. By producing the desired

effect within Ocean Blue’s budget, Elite were

able to complete the order and satisfy their

clients.

With diversification quickly becoming the

buzz word of today’s sign industry, Metamark

are providing products that seem not only to

have a variety of applications, but which cross

a wide range of sectors. This is an essential

strength for sign-maker and supplier alike.
