Merry Christmas! It is more than happy holidays. It is the birth of our Savior that we celebrate. It is Christmas! To me it is Christ, the messiah, that is our central focus for this time of year. It means this time of year is not just a time to have parties, but to remember the greatest gift of all given to us by the Lord Almighty. We open gifts at our house and before a single gift is opened we read from Matthew or Luke the story of Mary, Joseph, angels, the wise men and Jesus. What a ginormous gift God gave to us. It is the time to remember it all.

Do not miss the reason for the celebrations this time of year. Take time to read the Christmas story with your family and then do something fun like have family members share what kind of emotions they felt one of the key people in the story had. Let each family member choose the person they want to share about. It will be fun and it will cause everyone to focus on Christ the greatest gift of all. Then it will truly be Christmas!

Here at camp we enjoy celebrating Jesus with other churches and families as they come to have their parties at camp! We are thankful that Emmanuel is with us and brings his believers together to rejoice together!

What a Year!

When God is on the Move By: Courtney Duba

This year the theme of our summer camps was “Nothing is

Impossible with God.” This lead to a lot of prayer for God to do

big things. When you are talking to God about things, you start

to see him on the move. This is how I saw God working this summer at camp.

This summer I spent a lot of time praying that God would use me. One of the things that I prayed was that God

would give me the words to say to campers when they asked me questions. Over and over again, campers would

come and talk to me about things they were struggling with. Most of the time it was something that I had already

gone through with God. In each instance, God used my experiences and dependence on him to encourage my

campers in their relationships with God.

Right now, I see God working through the gymnasium. This was something that I personally thought would not

happen for another few years, but God wanted to surprise me. The gymnasium is going up and God is showing

that he is moving and doing the impossible at camp.

In this, God is getting all the glory. When God placed campers from different walks of life in the room that I was

counseling in and they were going through things that God has already guided me through, I felt that was God’s

plan. As the gymnasium goes up sooner than I ever thought possible, all I can say is, "NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE,

when God is on the move."

PRAYER changes things Please pray for camp this winter and spring:

That God's spirit would speak to many leading

them to become more like Jesus.

For God to provide counselors for winter

retreats

For speakers to present the good news of Christ

Jesus so it is clear and received and good soil

For funds for the recreational center/ gym

Ways you can give:

> Scholarships for campers

> To the new recreation/gym building

> Time volunteering as kitchen help during winter retreats

> Be on our team to plan woman's retreat

BBC Annual Meeting & Elections

We would like to invite you to the 2017 BBC

Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held on

Saturday, February 4th, 2017 at the Byron Bible

Camp retreat center. An election for board

members will be held with three board members

needing to be elected. If you would like to

submit a name to be nominated to the camp

board and have it placed on the ballot, the

nomination needs to be submitted by January 1,

2017 and follow the criteria below.

Nominations to the camp board of directors by

constituent members need to be:

1. Made in writing, accompanied by a written

agreement and signed by the nominee to

serve if elected.

2. Mailed to Byron Bible Camp, 40546 South

Shore Road, Huron, SD 57350 or submitted in

person by January 1, 2017

Anyone who has contributed $25.00 or more in

cash or goods in the calendar year prior to the

annual meeting is a designated voting member.

Recently, we invited people to come and pray over

the gym . Together we wrote Bible verses on the

studs and walls committing the Gym to God. The

power of God's word is so amazing and it's

humbling to see what he chooses to do thorough

simple people like us!

Jim Hohm Memorials

We are grateful for the many people that gave in

memory of Jim Hohm. Jim was a man with a heart

for God and passion for ministries that touch lives

for the Kingdom of God.

At the request of Jim's family we are glad to

designate the memorial money to furnishing the

basketball backboards and hoops for the new gym

at Byron Bible Camp. Jim loved sports, especially

basketball and so it is appropriate for the funds to

be used in this way. We are sadden by the loss of

Jim, but grateful for his support of the camp over

the years. If you would like to support this project

just indicate that with your gift when you send it to

camp.
