1.2. INTRODUCTION
The mission of the Merck Investigator Studies Program (MISP) is to advance the delivery of quality healthcare by supporting Merck investigator original research that will enhance the understanding of disease entities and their treatment. This program is open to all academic and community-based physicians and researchers worldwide who are interested in conducting their own research.
The Merck IIS Program consists of Committees of medical and scientific staff from
different therapeutic areas who meet regularly to review Merck investigator study
proposals. Grants are awarded based on the scientific merit of the proposal.

1.4. VISIONTRACKER GRANT MANAGEMENT WEBSITE
1.4.1. OVERVIEW
Visiontracker is an application that assists a pharmaceutical company in grant life cycle management. A pharmaceutical company has budget set up for independent investigators to conduct studies about its drugs. The money approved to fund an investigator’s study is called grant. The application helps to manage investigators, their grant applications, grant decision process, grant payments and grant schedule. This document will assist with the use of the web based interface. One of the most important features of the website is that it must be secure. To this end you will need a user name and password to be able to access the website. If you do not already have these, click the “Register” button which will provide you with an online form to fill out and submit.

1.4.2. NEW USERS - REGISTRATION
1. New Users: If you need to request an id and password, you may do so by navigating the “Need a User ID?” section and clicking on the link called “clicking here” and then filling out the following out the registration form
2. You may also contact VT Support by clicking on the “Contact Us” link on the left side of the homepage screen, select “Technical Support” in the “Address to” field, select your subject and provide a message.
3. Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*) 4. Click “OK” after completing the form 5. After submitting your request, registration information will be sent to your e-mail
address on file

1. Select “New Application” at the top of the Visiontracker homepage 2. Review and Acknowledge the “Privacy Statement” 3. Click “OK” to proceed 4. Select the “Submission Type” 5. Select the “Therapeutic Area”

1.4.3.1. Getting Started - Tabs
1. Begin with the Main tab and fill out all the fields under each of the sections (required fields are identified by an asterisk*)
2. To switch from one tab to another, click on the actual tab or click on the arrow at the bottom of the page by scrolling to the bottom of the screen
3. Clicking on the “Save” button periodically will allow you to save your work

1.4.3.2. Attachments
1. To attach a document, click on the Attachments tab 2. Click on the paperclip icon to attach a required document (required attachments
are identified by an asterisk *) 3. A pop-up window appears; select “browse” button to upload your attachment. If
you want to provide a description of the attachment, simply fill out the field called “Description” and click “OK” when done with the upload
4. To upload any additional attachments, click on the “Post New” and select the “browse” button to upload your attachment. Select the “type” and click “OK”

1.4.3.3. Submitting an Application
1. Click the “Submit” at the top or bottom of the homepage to submit your application 2. To submit your application, please complete all required fields and click on
“Submit.” If you click on “Submit” and your application is incomplete, a list of remaining application requirements will be displayed.

1.4.3.4. Successful Submission
Once the application has been successfully submitted, a pop-up window will display a message identifying your Grant Tracking number. Please record this number for future inquires. An acknowledgement confirmation email will also be sent. You may also locate your grant by clicking on the tabs to the left called “Task List” or All My Applications”
