SIMON LEADS DUHAWKS PAST OLES... The Duhawks began the healing process after their first loss of the season by defeating St. Olaf 3-2 on Sunday, September 14. Junior Jorge Simon kept his boot in perfect form, adding two more tallies, including the game winner in the 81’. After coming on for senior Sean Elvert in the 17’, sophomore Adam Roloff made two saves over the remaining 73 minutes to earn his first victory of the year.

LORAS DEAD-LOCKED IN RANKINGS…With the release of rankings on Tuesday, the Duhawks remained dead-locked at No. 5 in D3Soccer.com’s rankings and No. 10 in NSCAA’s rankings. Loras’ two wins this weekend secured these spots for them but, in the coming week, they will look to improve on their rankings.

DUHAWKS BATTLES BACK... In both games this weekend in Minnesota, Loras fell behind early in the game. The Duhawks fell behind St. Olaf just 12’ into the game on Saturday and again on Sunday, they fell behind in the 15’ to Saint Johns. These two comebacks for the Duhawks put their record when their opponents score first at 2-1.

IOWA CONFERENCE WELL REPRESENTED...Three Iowa Conference teams are receiving representation in the latest NSCAA/Continential Tire and D3Soccer.com polls. Joining Loras in the Top 25 this week is Luther College at No. 19 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Poll and No. 9 in the D3Soccer.com poll. The Knights of Wartburg College fell out of the Top 25 in both polls and are only receiving votes in the D3Soccer.com poll.

CRYSTAL-CLEAR HIGH-DEFINITION ...For the fans that are unable to attend our matches this season, they’ll be treated to a first-class ticket to the first high-definition online stream produced by Loras College Athletics. During the offseason, thanks largely in part to an anonymous donation, the Loras College Athletic Communications Department upgraded its hardware and technology and will now provide high-definition broadcasts of its home contests all season long.
