In 1607, a group of English Separatists, known as Pilgrims, moved to Holland in order to worship

their religion as they wished.

• The Pilgrims received a charter from the Virginia Company in 1620 to settle in northern Virginia.

• The Pilgrims agreed to work for the company as indentured servants.

In 1620, the Pilgrims set sail for Virginia on a ship called the Mayflower, but a storm blew them

instead to Massachusetts…or did they have other plans??

The Pilgrims developed the Mayflower Compact, which was an agreement, or contract, to make laws that would benefit all the people of the Plymouth ColonyPlymouth Colony.
