National Museum

The National Museum is considered to be one of the most significant Near Eastern museums because of its rich collection. Until 1975 the museum welcomed all visitors to admire its collections from different eras. It endured through the Civil war and after renovation was re-opened to the public in 2000. It now has over 1300 archaeological artifacts displayed dating from Prehistory to Ottoman times.

The center of Beirut, notable for its Art Deco Architecture it has become a recognizable icon around the world. The jewel of down-town lies in the clock tower with its four-faced Rolex clock. There are few who would not be satisfied from the visit; Downtown has estab-lished itself as an area of luxury on the levels of cuisine, entertain-ment, fashion, and business.

Corniche/Rouche

The Corniche Beirut is a seaside promenade in Beirut, Lebanon. Lined with palm trees, the waterfront esplanade offers visitors a mag-nificent view of the Mediterranean and the summits of Mount Leba-non to the east. Along the coast one would find the geographical landmark known as Raouche Rock.

A must-see destination offering an array of various, cultural, leisure and social activities which finally brings back those faded photogra-phers into the new millennium

Jeita Grotto

Geologically, the caves provide a tunnel or escape route for the underground river. In this cave and galleries, the action of water in the limestone has created cathedral-like vaults full of various sizes, colors and shapes of stalactites and stalagmites, majestic curtains and fantastic rock formations. The total length of the cave is more than 900 m and it is among the biggest stalactites in the world hanging 8,20 m.

26 km far from Beirut, overlooking the bay of Jounieh, the sanctuary of Our Lady of Lebanon – Harissa, which was erected in 1904 over the hill of Ha-rissa, can be seen from miles. Inside the base of the statue there is a chapel and outside, a spial staircase leads to the top. Near the white-painted bronze statue, this was made in Lyon – France and brought to Lebanon and installed in 1908.

Byblos – Jbeil

Byblos is located in the Mediterranean coast of present-day Leba-non, about 42 kilometers north of Beirut (capital). Byblos is re-emerg-ing as an upscale touristic hub. With its ancient port, Phoenician, Roman and Crusader ruins, sandy beaches and the picturesque mountains that surround it make it an ideal tourist destination. The city is known for its fish restaurants, open-air bars, and outdoor cafes. Yachts cruise its harbor today like they did in the sixties and seventies when Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra were regular visi-tors to the city.

Qadisha, one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Leba-non, is needed a world apart. At the bottom of this wild steep-sided gorge runs the Qadisha River whose source is in the Qadisha Grotto at the foot of the Cedars. And above the famous Cedar grove stands Qornet el Sawda, Lebanon’s highest peak.

The Cedars Forest

Just seven kilometers from Bcharreh is the world’s famous Cedars Forest, now the most important surviving piece of the vast greenery that once made the mountains of Lebanon a paradise on earth. Today, the grove consists of just 450 cedar trees and receives im-portant attention from the Cedar Friends, working to preserve it and turn it into an open-air art museum

This Phoenician city, where a triad of deities was worshipped, was known as Heliopolis during the Hellenistic period. It retained its religious function during Roman times, when the sanctuary of the Heliopolitan Jupiter attracted thousands of pilgrims. Baalbek, with its colossal structures, is one of the finest examples of Imperial Roman architecture at its apogee.

Anjar Ruins

The city of Anjar was founded by Caliph Walid I at the beginning of the 8th century. The ruins reveal a very regular layout, reminiscent of the palace-cities of ancient times, and are a unique testimony to city planning under the Umayyads.

Massaya is situated in Tanail, the heart of Bekaa Valley, home to some of the oldest and most original motifs of ancient wines and wine-making. The Bekaa is once again proving it can produce great wines and Massaya, whose name is Arabic for the delicate beauty of the Bakaa’s twilight, with its French and Lebanese partners is proud to perpetuate this ancient tradition.

Beiteddine

Beiteddine (House of Faith) is the name of both the village and the magnificent palace complex that lies within. The palace, perched on a steep elevation, rises from the surrounding landscape like a fairytale vision, a Scheherazadean delight rendered with Italianate flair (in fact, the architects were Italian).

Deir El Qamar is unique in Lebanon, a town restored and main-tained in a style many centuries old. Deir El Qamar did not only pre-serve its grand feudal architecture, but its old stepped streets, walled gardens and picturesque corners as well.
