Memory Jogger
Introduction:
Dear Memory Jogger,
This Memory Jogger is designed to guide you down memory lane decade by decade.
For each decade since 1930 your will find everything you need to open up trunks of memory
from the top music and literary artists of to memorable sports, economic and political events.
Take all the time you need to travel back in time to the earliest decades of your life to recall
those events that helped form the person you are today. Following each jogger decade there
are blank lined note taking pages for jotting down the events you remember in the way you
remember them and reflect how those events impacted you, family, and community.
For example:
The prices of clothing, food, and gasoline in the year in which you were born.
Significant historical and political events you read about or have participated in.
Well-known actors and movies, stage plays you went to see.
Books you may have read — and more.
The greatest satisfaction and enjoyment will arise when you've share your life with your
family and community. Your children and grandchildren will hang onto your words; they will
never forget the wonderful stories you tell. Furthermore you can use this jogger with your
new neighbors or retirement community residents to build new connections and begin new
friendships.
You have a story to tell, your story. You and your life are worth far more than any 100-word
obituary. Tell it all, the good along with the not-so-good. After all, it was your life. It is your life.
Have a fine journey,
Paul Zohav M.Ed.
