Serving as a voluntary organization of small and large businesses, professionals, and interested individuals who join together to advance the interests of the community. We help to both keep business in the area and attract new business, which, of course, generates tax revenue and increased services. Our members represent the best leadership, business and organizational resources in Ashland County and the surrounding area.
At the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, we firmly believe that the strength of any community is in its business sector. A strong business community generates jobs for the citizens, philanthropy money to support non-profit organizations, and tax money to pay for necessary government functions.
The Chamber leverages its members’ resources to take on the tasks they can’t do alone: tasks like promoting legislation that enhances free enterprise and public services to make the community a better place to live and work. ADVOCATING FOR OUR BUSINESSES AND COMMUNITY The Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce is the central agency that corrals the forces of the community for its improvement and development: in business, in industry, and in the professions. We serve in the following roles for the benefit of our member businesses and community residents:
The Voice of Business - Through the Chamber, you can voice your views on legislation, taxes, civic affairs, employment, trade, transportation and other important matters. Joined with the opinions of other civic and business leaders, your ideas are amplified through a cooperative “voice of business” and acquire additional strength.
Government Connections - The Chamber is your representative on the local, regional, state and national level. Make personal connections with local, state, and national officials who have your best interest at heart.
Legislative Issues Tracking - The Chamber and our Business Advocacy Committee regularly track local, state, and national legislative issues and identify those that may impact our local businesses and community.
Business Resource Center - We use resources provided by the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), and the U.S. Chamber to identify other important state and federal issues affecting business (such as employment laws, energy mandates, and the state budget)
