Department Of Mechanical Engineering. MEC6008 Graphical Programming with LabVIEW Assignment 2: Project Assignment Assignment 2 is your opportunity to use LabVIEW on a problem of your own choosing. You will need to decide on a suitable problem and then create a simple VI that solves that problem. You must then write a report on the VI you create. The layout of the report should include an Introduction, where you describe the problem, its practical importance and the objective of the study, a Methods section, where you give a description of the front panel, block diagram and any hardware used in your problem and a Results and Discussion section, in which you describe the results and discuss their relevance, comment on debugging techniques used to detect errors, and comment on possible improvements to the whole process. The whole manuscript should also include appropriate screen captures of your VIs, plots and graphs of results, and references. You are required to submit either an MS Word File or pdf of the report, and your VI files. The length of the project report should not exceed 8 pages. This assignment accounts for 80% of the course assessment. The submitted VI files should be saved to be compatible with LabVIEW 2014 or earlier. Where appropriate ensure any SubVI’s or control files (.ctl) must also be attached. If you plan on using VIs from non-standard packages (eg NI Vision Development Module) please contact the course supervisor in advance to so that they can make arrangements to assess your work.
