DEAR McLAREN ENTHUSIAST,

This March, McLaren Automotive officially unveiled the McLaren 650S Coupe and Spider at the Geneva Motor Show. This issue is going in depth on this model, with a lot of information and pictures.

We will be receiving our first McLaren 650S by the end of the month, feel free to stop by our showroom to discover McLaren Automotive’s new supercar.

As good news never come alone, the McLaren Mercedes team seems to have figured out the new Formula One V6 turbo engine already. With a 2nd and 3rd place finish, the team is leading the constructor’s championship. We are looking forward to the next race on March 30th and will be viewing the race at our showroom at 10:00am.

total confi dence to exploit the McLaren 650S’s astounding performance and dynamics. Brake heavily above 95kph and the McLaren 650S’s active Airbrake instantly deploys, meaning you can stop faster and brake even later on the racetrack.

wheels look stunning, they’re also incredibly strong and shed

weight from the most benefi cial place. That means they amplify the McLaren 650S’s breathtaking dynamics, improve its ride comfort and complement the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8’s mind-blowing performance.

ICONIC DOORSSimple. Eff ective. Undeniably spectacular. Our signature

dihedral doors, fi rst seen on the McLaren F1, are lighter and more aerodynamic than conventional doors. The single hinge design requires less room to open and makes it easier to get in and out.

ILLUMINATING DESIGNInspired by the McLaren P1 and echoing the McLaren speed

mark, the 650S features striking all-LED headlights with all func-tions – dipped- and full-beam, indicators, day-time running lamps – illuminated by LED technology.

You feel the thrill of the drive, sense the connection to the road, hear the twin-turbo V8 roar as it hits peak rpm. But it all started with a blank piece of paper and our engineers wondering how they could make the perfect sportscar.

CARBON FIBER MONOCELLA huge part of the reason the McLaren 650S feels so intimately

connected to the road is the carbon fiber MonoCell at its core. It’s strong, it’s light, it’s safe, it doesn’t flex when you finally dare to take Flugplatz flat. It makes the McLaren 650S feel fantastic.

BRAKE STEERBrake Steer uses the rear brakes to subtly manage traction,

minimise mid-corner understeer and control oversteer when you corner at speed, allowing you to unleash the 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8’s full performance in maximum safety with breathtaking effect.

ACTIVE AERODYNAMICSYou’ll love it because it looks gorgeous, but it took hundreds of

hours of advanced computational fluid dynamics, weeks of wind tunnel testing and an obsession with perfection to create the breathtaking contours of the McLaren 650S.

AN ENGINE LIKE NO OTHERAccelerate at low revs and you’ll feel its turbocharged pull. The

mid-range will slam you back in your seat. Performance at the 8500rpm redline packs a fearsome punch. But not only does the M838T engine deliver captivating performance, it’s also refined, characterful and offers extraordinary fuel economy and impres-sively low CO2 emissions.

PROACTIVE CHASSIS CONTROLProactive Chassis Control (PCC) gives you the best of both

worlds, from supple suspension in town to roll-free cornering on the racetrack for ultimate exhilaration.

BUILT AROUND YOUEvery millimetre of the McLaren 650S’s Carbon Black Alcantara

interior has been meticulously optimised for maximum driving pleasure and unparalleled comfort.

MATERIALSThe highest-quality materials are crafted by hand to comple-

ment the McLaren 650S’s interior design.Alcantara: used extensively in motorsport, this composite,

suede-like material offers extensive grip and creates a refined, sporting look.

Carbon fiber: we create different weights and thicknesses which complement the shape and form of the interior. Lacquered carbon also plays beautifully with light, giving depth and adding dimension to the interior finish.

PANORAMIC VIEWThe dashboard is laid out simply and logically, the steering

wheel uncluttered. The low cowl – another benefit of the powerful V8 being positioned behind you – allows you to scan the road without obstruction, while the tops of the arches are positioned directly above the front wheels and are clearly visible from the driver’s seat.

SYMMETRICAL DESIGNWe’ve grouped every button and switch to reflect how often

you’ll use them, minimising the time you need to look away from the road, or making it so intuitive that you simply don’t need to. Buttons that tailor the driving experience are grouped logically in the centre console; those for the climate-control zones are in the door panels to create an elegant symmetry.

RACE-CRAFTED STEERING WHEELGrip the tactile, small-diameter steering wheel and your fingertips’ sense of

connection to the McLaren 650S echoes that of our racing drivers in a Formula 1™ cockpit – the shape, the grip and the feel were all inspired by the steering wheels in our race cars. There are no buttons or switches to diminish the purity of interaction between man and machine.

FORMULA 1-INSPIRED GEARSHIFTThe McLaren 650S features a

seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox for super-fast gearshifts and peerless effi-ciency. You can control those gearshifts via a Formula 1-inspired rocker shift paddle mounted on the steering wheel. That means gearshifts are always at your fingertips, whether you’re flat-out through Eau Rouge or trickling through Monaco’s Grand Hotel Hairpin. A new feature allows for stacked shifts when the driver pulls the rocker shift multiple times, delivering the change directly to the desired gear. Or just select Auto and let the car do the work.

ACTIVE DYNAMIC PANEL (ADP)How the suspension connects you to

WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO McLAREN?The Heritage of McLaren. But most importantly the McLaren F1 and its innovative design. It didn’t hurt that they had outstanding drivers like Hunt, Lauda, Prost and of course Senna.

A fter a disappointing 2013 season with-out a podium, 2014 couldn’t start any better for the McLaren Mercedes Team!

Starting in 4th position on the grid, Kevin Magnussen (pictured) handled his first Formula One race like a veteran. Despite a generous throttle that could have ended his race before the first turn, Kevin ran the 57 laps without committing any mis-take, racing for position all the way until the end.

Starting 10th, Jenson Button took advantage of the Safety Car to pit early in the race and gain several positions, emerging 6th.

After the second pit stops, Jenson now 4th stated to close the gap on Kevin running 3rd.

With the disqualification of Red Bull Driver Ricciardo, Kevin’s 2nd place equaled Jacques Villeneuve debut as the most successful rookie.

With both cars to the finishing 2nd and 3rd, McLaren now leads the constructors’ championship.
