About the Course Director

Jeff Martin and BSs (Hons) in Maritime Economics is VisitingProfessor of International Logistics at Chung Ang University (Seoul, South Korea) and Director of J and S Maritime. He has extensive experience over the past 30 years in international container transport having spent 5 years managing container shipments, 5 years designing shipping line software systems and ten years involved in the development of new container terminals. Since 2005 he has provided management and executive training to terminal operators, shipping lines, logistics service providers and technology companies in thecontainer sector. Jeff has acted as port expert to the International Labour Organization (ILO) providing expertise in port operations to the highly successful Portworker Development Programme (PDP) which provides training to operators in the container sector. Currently he is developing a series short online short courses covering operational and market aspects of the container sector. Jeff is a recognised expert in the development and implementation of computer systems and has providedbusiness expertise and consultancy services on a range of software projects to shipping lines and terminal operators. Leveraging this knowledge, he provides culture change training to support the adoption of innovation and automation by portworkers and frontline managers. During his career he has worked in over thirty countries and had the opportunity to live in North America, Eastern Europe and the Far East. He currently delivers training courses each year in Europe, Asia and North America.
