As 2017 approaches the market is beginning to stabilize. Of course, that can be interpreted in numerous ways. The last 2 years have been quite tumultuous for the entire industry. However, there are thousands of lessons to be learned. In the course of history we have weathered numerous highs and, absolutely, some lows, but we persevere.

MCE Deepwater Development (MCEDD) has been anointed by some as a Deepwater jewel. It's just different than most industry events. Just ask anyone who was in Pau, or Madrid. In 2004, the ancestor to MCEDD was held in Amsterdam. We are returning in 2017. Every poll we have ever taken has shown Amsterdam as either the first or second most mentioned preferred future host city.

As we begin the arduous, but fascinating task of assembling the ideas, actions and results that mark the Deepwater Industry, let's focus on the future. One of the most important things about knowledge is the ability to recall that knowledge and out it into action. When we all meet in April 2017, let us absorb as much knowledge as possible, continue to strive to engage as many people as we can and reflect on how we can use the lessons we have learned over the past few years to build a better future for Deepwater.

We look forward to seeing you in at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, 3-5 April, 2017!
