Sparks is accused in part of entering a fifth-wheel camper trailer without authorization with the intent to commit a theft and subsequently obtain- ing unauthorized control over the trailer with the intent of permanently depriving the owner of its “possession, use or benefit.” He also is accused of coming onto the property located at 4373 39th Street knowing he was not authorized or privileged to do so. The alleged crimes are said to have occurred Feb. 12. Sparks made his first ap- pearance in Jefferson County District Court the same day the complaint was filed. Magistrate Judge Dennis L. Reiling was on the bench and appointed Atchi- son attorney Robert Campbell to represent him. The state was represented at the proceeding by Jonathan Ehrlich with the Office of the County Attorney.
