London Business School MBA Employment Report 2012
Introduction from the Executive Director
Fiona Sandford Executive Director Careers and Global Business London Business School www.london.edu/recruitourtalent
It has been a really exciting year for our MBA programme and in many ways, a year of firsts. I am proud to see that despite facing another challenging year in the job market, our students remain highly sought after. 92% of our MBA2012 class secured employment within three months of graduation; of those, 33% took up Consulting Sector roles with a further 32% moving into the Finance Sector. However, for the first time, it was Corporate Sectors, at 35%, that attracted the largest percentage of permanent hires. The past year has also seen more and more of our MBA graduates heading outside the UK following graduation. With 53% of our students choosing to work abroad, it is a testament to the international mobility and global perspective of our graduates.

Introduction from the Executive Director
Fiona Sandford Executive Director Careers and Global Business London Business School www.london.edu/recruitourtalent
We have implemented some exciting innovations to the MBA programme to help us better reflect and challenge the global nature of our class. In September, students and faculty flew to Boston and New York to participate in London Business School’s first ever Global Business Experience. A unique opportunity to learn about global business through immersion in five different locations, the Global Business Experience is designed to engage students in new and complex working environments. Subsequent trips will take place in Johannesburg this December, Mumbai in March 2013, Hong Kong in April 2013 and Istanbul in May 2013. The Career Services team has been busy working closely with student clubs to organise Career Treks to New York, Geneva, Paris, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai to provide organisations with the opportunity to meet our students in-house. Our ongoing focus on China is also beginning to reap rewards with major recruiter Fosun International making its first visit to campus, and the School’s faculty and students hosting two major events in November for our first China Week.

We also have reason to celebrate as we continue to enjoy success in major international rankings. With the MBA programme recently voted number one in the Bloomberg BusinessWeek international ranking for the first time ever. However, one thing stays the same and that is our mission to build the best possible relationships with recruiters. I would like to thank our recruiters for having confidence in the skills, expertise and global perspectives that our students and graduates can bring to their organisations and continuing to hire from the School. I hope you find this report informative and useful.
