said that “from a locationstandpoint in our 41-countymarketing area, this is thecenter and it works out welllogisitically.“Albany has been our

home for 25 years,” he said.”Our roots are here and itjust made sense for us tostay here.”Albany-based Outdoor

Network, a customer serviceand Internet fulfillmentcenter for after-marketpower sports parts and theparent company ofpartzilla.com and boats.net,is a master at puttingtogether the Internet search

engine puzzle.Whereas sometimes

searching can seem like agame of chase, OutdoorNetwork takes you rightwhere you want to be: tothe product for which you’research or to a diagram thatshows you the part youneed. This last piece, thediagram, is something thatOutdoor Network CEO TomD’Azevedo said allows thecompany to servicecustomers in a way thatcompetitors can’t.Knowing what customers

are looking for on the searchside directly affects the waythat Outdoor Networkfunctions on the customerservice side as well as thefulfillment and distributionside, D’Azevedo said.Outdoor Network’s Albanycall center fields 2,000 callsper day and makestechnicians available tocustomers. The company recently

invested millions intovertically doubling itsdistribution capacity at itsSeminole Lane warehouse. That expansion means thatOutdoor Network nowcarries 80 percent of thegoods that customers are

searching for, compared toan industry average that’sless than 40 percent. That’sabout 50,000 distinct powersports parts in stock at theAlbany warehouse.

It’s no coincidence that aneffort that began more than100 years ago through thededication of volunteerscontinues to operate throughthe lens of communityservice.Phoebe Putney Memorial

Hospital provides a workforce that shares talentsthroughout the region; itprovides health-relatedservices to public schoolsand governments in andaround Dougherty County; itpartners to host programsthat increase publicawareness of health-relatedissues; it has shaped Albanyinto one of Georgia’s best-known medical regions.Phoebe’s Community

Benefits Program providesfinancial support toorganizations meetingcommunity needs criteria. In2013, Phoebe provided$821,000 in cash donationsand in-kind support tononprofit organizations inSouthwest Georgia, plusanother $84,000 for anti-poverty programs. Many of Phoebe’s

company-invested volunteerprograms are organizedthrough Phoebe’s Networkof Trust, which in additionto a slew of partners, teamswith the Dougherty CountySchool System to operate 24school clinics, providingeducational programs, assessments, chronic diseasemanagement andprevention, and referralservices to more than 17,000children, faculty and staff.
