“It’s been our family home since my job moved to Liverpool 29 years ago,” recalls Richard. “We’d been living in a Pennine

farmhouse and the commute was too long,

so we looked for somewhere closer. We liked

Formby because it was separated from the

Liverpool and Southport conurbations by a green

belt and had a village feel, yet had excellent

amenities and transport links. We particularly

“When we came it had been modernised with a kitchen extension. One of the first things we did was to

construct an outdoor swimming pool but we later sold that with

part of the garden to a neighbouring development. We then built

the new indoor pool and sauna, and the adjoining patio, which

has been great for the children, and for parties and barbecues.
