“It’s been our family home since my job moved to Liverpool 29 years ago,” recalls Richard. “We’d been living in a Pennine

farmhouse and the commute was too long,

so we looked for somewhere closer. We liked

Formby because it was separated from the

Liverpool and Southport conurbations by a green

belt and had a village feel, yet had excellent

amenities and transport links. We particularly

liked Freshfield, which is the older part and has a

wide range of properties and lots of trees.”
