****Lunch & Learn – Spring 2018 Series****
New to the area or to Oregon? Looking for a new adventure? This terms Lunch and Learn series will be inspirational to get us back outdoors and appreciating all the hidden gems of our community. Presentations are
co-presented by the Lebanon Senior Center and LBCC Community Education.
May 17th 1:00-2:00pm – “Canal History” Chet Houser, a volunteer with Monteith House in
Albany, will be sharing a presentation about the history of the canal that runs from Lebanon to Albany. Its construction is fascinating! Photos will be shared.
May 21st 1:00-2:00pm – “Neighboring Gems” Rebecca Wirfs, Lebanon Senior Center
Activities Planner, will be sharing some of her own insights into her favorite places to visit for a day trip (or that are on “her list”). The McKenzie River Ranger Station couldn’t send a representative, so Rebecca will have a plethora of information, pamphlets, and links to some helpful websites that they provided as we explore the options of visiting this scenic neighboring area of Lebanon, too.
Spice of Life Series—Tuesday, May 15th 12:30-1:30pm
If you have been around the Senior Center for potluck, you know Rebecca enjoys cooking. She will be presenting our presentation this month and showcase Turmeric! You have heard some of the medical
hype about this spice. Now is your chance to taste it through a cooking demo with samples, learn techniques for preserving it, and learn some
possible health benefits.

the Victorian Age tradition sending messages via flower arrangements presented by some wonderful ladies from the Lebanon Garden Club.
No cost to attend, but please sign-up by Wednesday, May 16th so we can prepare enough delectable tea treats. You can reserve a seat by calling 541-258-4919 or
