• Every member commit to pray at least 30 minutes a day in May.• Every member make all efforts to visit the prayer room at least twice a week.• Calling all ministers and wives to prayer, Saturday, May 4, 2013, 6pm - 8pm. Goal 80• Calling all men to prayer, Saturday, May 11, 2013, 6pm -8pm. Goal 300• Calling all women to prayer, Saturday, May 18, 2013, 6pm - 8pm. LIFE GROUPS

BOYS & GIRLS

In May and June I will be preaching about the serious challenges our sons and daughters are facing. Our girls are growing up in this sexualized, hyper-cyber spaced, obsessed and intoxicated culture. Sons are addicted to video games, lack motivation, use prescription drugs and are suffering the devaluation of masculinity.1 Parents should be concerned!

Sunday, May 5, 2013 - “PARENTS, WAKE UP!” Introduction to Boys and Girls. Four factors driving the new crisis for girls and four factors driving the decline of boys.

Sunday, May, 12, 2013 - “MOM, YOUR DAUGHTER IS TOO SEXY AND TEXTY” This preaching will deal with girl’s sexual identity and her new home in the cyberbubble. Girls are trying to look sexy and attract attention at a much younger age, often leading to confused sexual identity. As she becomes hyper-connected with her peers, she becomes disconnected from herself.

Sunday, May 19, 2013 - “BOYS TO MEN, NOT BOYZ II MEN” What are parents to do when their sons become addicted to video games and are unmotivated to study or work. What is to be done with a lazy 5, 15 or 25 year old son?

Sunday, May 26, 2013 - “GIRL’S OBSESSIONS” Girls are anxious about grades, looks, clothes and food. At least one in five American girls are now deliberately harming themselves - cutting themselves with razors, burning themselves with cigarettes. Without a solid godly foundation, strong and wise parents and a strong sense of self, girls become vulnerable to obsessions.

Sunday, June, 2, 2013 - “THE DEVALUATION OF MASCULINITY” Shifts in popular culture have transformed the role models of manhood. Being a “real man” matters less to many boys than it did a generation or two ago. Young men who have no motivation to work or serve, have no shame in taking much and giving little, and have to be begged to clean up after themselves or take out the trash - are going to marry your daughters! continuedonthenex tpage...

_________________________________________ 1 Although I will utilize many sources in this series, I will mainly follow Dr. Leonard Sax’s books, “Girls on the Edge”, “Boy’s Adrift” and “Why Gender Matters” (New York: Basic Books) I urge parents to read these books with a critical eye. Although many of his concept are good, the reader may notice a tint of secularism and an inclination towards feminism.

Sunday, June 9, 2013 - “5 TYPES OF FOOLS” The book of Proverbs describes 5 types fools. “Foolishness is bound in the heart of the child, but the rod of correction shall drive him far from it.” Proverbs 22:15 This foolishness is found in both boys and girls until God’s wisdom wisely implemented through wise and caring, praying parents.

Sunday, June 16, 2013- “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY SOLUTIONS” As we honor all Father’s, godly and hard working Dad’s will join me on stage to dialogue about real, biblical solutions that will help us raise a generation of boys and girls with bright eyes and hearts turned towards God.

Invite a family who have boys and girls. Share this upcoming series with parents and grandparents who need help raising strong and godly families.

LIFE GROUPS May, 2013When FTC launched small groups about 8 years ago, the intent was to create a sense of community where guests and congregants could feel love, fellowship, and encouragement. To date many testimonies have arisen from the Life Group ministry.

“My group was there during my trial”- one sister testifies“I enjoy the food, laughter, and friendship”- states another member

A recent first time guest to a Life group told me personally “it was nothing like what I expected. I felt comfortable and enjoyed the company. I will be back to join my wife again.”

Yet through all the excitement our English membership still functions with just about 40% involvement in small groups.

This semester we are striving to eliminate barriers that could hinder involvement. We have constructed a team of leaders with passion for people. We have carefully chosen Life Group topics that are relevant such as conditioning, family, marriage, and prayer. Beyond the planning I’m assured we have secured a team that loves God and will determine to meet your spiritual needs!

Though we have made the effort to develop a great time, the rest is up to the Fountain of Truth Community. A Life Group can only be effective if you join today. Consider the benefits to sign up with a Life Group group:

Support Spiritual Growth Friendships Ministry Partnership Prayer Covering Fellowship

Might you benefit from the experience of laughing and fellowshipping even in the midst of your trial? Perhaps you have been limited by physical illness and would enjoy a LG leader (and group) visiting you? Perhaps you need comfort & prayer during a difficult time? Maybe you’re seeking a place where you can be transparent and see other Christians as “human”?

If this describes you-join a Life Group today. Simply follow these steps

I. Review the List of Life GroupsII. Choose One that appeals to youIII. Fill out the perforated slip in the Life Group brochure and drop in offering basketIV. The Life Group leader will contact you with information about weekly meetingsV. Brace yourself for an exciting 12 week journey!
