Crossfit - Ages 13-17Crossfit Unrestrained Teens is a strength and conditioning pro-gram designed for teen athletes and non-athletes alike. The pro-gram combines age as well as skill appropriate weight lifting and gymnastics with high intensity training to deliver optimal fitness and performance, while establishing a love for fitness. Musical First Steps - 3-5 yrsMusical First Steps will use rhymes and songs to en-hance a child’s ability to communicate, learn and cre-ate during the crucial first five years, when brain de-velopment is at its peak. Life Guard Training - Ages 15+Looking for a great summer job to do while in high school and higher education? Lifeguarding could be the answer. The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course will help you develop skills and experience that will be valued by colleges and future employers. It’s a great way to demonstrate what you can offer. Colleges and employers look for applicants who can deal effectively with people, who have a take charge attitude, and who are willing to work to develop new skills. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for Lifeguards. Please note that passing of the LGT course does not guarantee employment. Red Cross Lifeguarding manual and CPR mask are included in the training fee and will be handed out upon passing the Pre-Course Swim Test.Steps to becoming a certified Lifeguard:

1. Sign up for the Pre-Course Swim Test and Lifeguard Training.2. Pass the Pre-Course Swim Test. • Swim 300 yards continuously. (Front crawl & breast stroke only; goggles allowed.)

• Starting in the water, swim 20 yards using front crawl or breaststroke, surface dive 7–10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface, swim 20 yards back to the starting point with the object and exit the water without using a ladder or steps, within 1 minute, 40 seconds. (Goggles are not allowed for this portion of the swim test.)

Introduction to Knapping- Ages 18+Knapping is the physical art of making stone cutting tools (arrow-heads, stone scrappers, drills, knives, etc.) You will learn how to use percussion techniques to both create large spalls and thin and shape those spalls to preforms. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board advises the City Council and the City Manager on matters pertaining to the planning, de-velopment, improvement, beautification, equipping and maintain-ing of public parks, playgrounds, recreation facilities and resources. The council meets at 5:30 pm on the 1st Thursday of each month at Pasco City Hall, 525 N. 3rd Avenue, classroom 1.

Adopt-a-ParkThe Adopt-a-Park program provides opportunities for individuals and groups to help improve and maintain the City of Pasco's parks and trails system. The program's mission is to enhance community involvement, pride, and ownership through the general care, main-tenance, and beautification of Pasco's parks and trails.All you need to do is complete an Adopt-a-Park Application. You will then be contacted by a City of Pasco representative. If you can't make a long-term commitment, we still encourage you to volunteer! Contact us at 509-543-5757.
