The following names have been honored with beautiful roses that are
decorating our altar this Mothers day.
We wish all mothers, grandmothers, godmothers and holy women of the parish a blessed day.
Loving God, as a mother gives life and nourishment to her children, so you watch over your Church.
Bless our mother. Let the example of her faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, her family, may honor her always with a spirit of profound respect.
Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Attention All Parishioners: Are you leaving for an
extended vacation? If you are going to be away for an extended period of time (more than a month), or if you are planning to move, it is very important that you notify the parish office. In recent months there has been an increase in the number of en-velope packets and letters that have been returned to the office. With the rising cost in postage this is becoming expensive. Please call our parish business manager, Elaine Ward, at 630-396-6073 to put a hold on your envelopes. Your co-operation in this matter is deeply appreciated.
Pray for our Military Joseph Velasco, III, Richard Godman, III, Steven Van Dyke, Jeremy Guenther, Frank Minniti, Andrew DaMitz, Patrick J. Doran, Kevin Dollens, Jessie Blanton, Michael Whelan, John Pierczynski, Thomas Pierczynski, Scott Allen Petersen, Kevin Fitzpatrick, Nikita Majcen, Tom Clo-hessy, Benjamin Raymond, Stephanie Olson, Joshua D. Finance Council April Meeting Minutes The Finance Council met on the evening of April 28th. Rick Cosenza, Lori Bhardwaj, Elaine Ward, Brian Carnahan, and Fr. Peter were in attendance. The March minutes were unanimously approved. Every-thing is going well at the Early Learning Academy. 29 students are currently registered for next year. The Lombards Got Talent fund-raiser was a success, so thank you to all who were involved. Planning has begun for the white elephant sale in June. The response to our Planned Parish Offering has been lower than expected, but we would like to thank the approximately 250 families who have returned their commitment card. We are wondering why all the households do not respond or at least send the card back and say that we can not in-crease this year. Next years budget was reviewed in great detail, and adjustments were made as needed. The next Finance meeting is scheduled for May 12th.
St. Vincent DePaul Request

Loving God, as a mother gives life and
nourishment to her children, so you watch over your Church.
Bless these women,
that they may be strengthened as Christian mothers.
Let the example of their faith and love shine forth.
Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always
with a spirit of profound respect.

Are You Listed? Recently I went to Good Samaritan Hospital for a routine procedure in the X-Ray department. After filling out the appropriate paperwork, the young lady asked me check the information the hospital had in my file. I did, and boy was I surprised! Not only was I not listed as parishioner of Christ the King, of which I have been registered as a parishioner for four-teen years, under religion were the words not stated. Yikes! Imagine my surprise! If it can happen to a Deacon it can happen to you! Please, if you are going in for a procedure at any facility, ask to check your records to correct any errors they may contain. In order to receive the Sacraments in the hospi-tal, you have to either notify the parish or the facility, I rec-ommend both. --Deacon Peter Robinson

The following goals have been identified for the LOL service event:
• To call young people into awareness of needs in our own community.
• To help young people identify with the bigger Church outside the walls of Christ the King.
• To recognize and name the gifts of our young people in the Body of Christ and teach them how to use them for the good of the local church and beyond.
• To disciple the young as Jesus discipled his followers, by offering them the opportunity for Christian Service and reflection closer to home.
• To build bridges of understanding, faith, and ma-terial support by immersing people of all back-grounds in the shared Gospel message.

The decision of the Council of Jerusalem pushed the Jewish Christian community
to the edge of its comfort zone. Never-theless, the leaders of the Church were
confident that their decision was the will of God, shown them by the Holy
Spirit. Let us rejoice that God loves us so much that he has given us the Holy
Spirit to guide us. We seek the Spirit's guidance in living our lives of good
Stewardship.
