Dear 3BC Family,

As we enter May, we rejoice over thefirst four months of 2013. God hasbeen good to us and we rejoice asHe continues to work in us andthrough us for His glory. Continue topray for our 30+ list as we ask theLord to do mighty things in our midst.

May is truly a family month. Wehave High School Senior Recognitionon Sunday, May 5, Mother’s Day &Parent/Child Dedication on Sunday,May 12, and our Church Picnic atOaklands Mansion on Sunday, May 19.For Dena and me, we’ll go to our lasthigh school graduation as parents as

we see Chandler graduate fromOakland High School on May 18. It’shard to believe that we’re about to be“empty nesters.” As I’ve done withMadison and Hunter, may I onceagain thank you for being such a greatchurch to my kids and to the entirepastoral staff kids. When we movedhere in August 2002 Chandler waseight years old and entering the 2ndgrade. Being a PK (preacher’s kid)can sometimes be difficult…but nothere at 3BC! You’ve loved ourfamilies and shown them the love ofChrist in so many ways. We’re proudof Chandler and grateful for yourinvestment in her life.

This May I celebrate two milestones.First, Dena and I will celebrate 30years of marriage. In the same wayyou’ve been so good to our children, you’ve been that same way to Dena. Now I must admit a bias here, butGod could not have given me abetter wife to serve alongside methan Dena. In fact, I know that mostof you put up with me because youlove Dena, and rightly so!!! Second,I’ll turn 50 this month. If the statisticshold up, I’ve lived well over half mylife and I’m on the “downside”toward heaven. I pray that my finalyears of life will find me moreeffective and usable for the Lord andfor His glory!

I hope you’ll be faithful in attendanceduring May. Invite your unchurchedfriends to attend. Most will come ifyou invite them. Also, begin prayingnow for our VBS June 3-7. May ourLord grant us success as we continueto produce MATURE disciples of ourLord Jesus Christ who advance God’s Kingdom, by His power, forHis glory.

Your Pastor by His Grace and Yours,

Mike Lee, Senior Pastor

A ank You Note From The Mission Field

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Thank you for the blessing youbestowed on us by sending two teamsto partner in our ministry to thecommunity of Huechuraba in Santiago,Chile. It was so nice to get to see somefamiliar faces, and to get to know someothers we did not know when westarted our journey.

Both teams you prayed for and enabledto come, worked at Grace College. Mostof the 800 students in this school areunchurched, and although they’ve heardthe name of Jesus, they do not know Him.

Sadly, most of the students do not wantto know Him. Likewise, even though itis a Christian school, several teachersand staff are non-believing. We trulybelieve the work the two teams did willimpact Grace College and thecommunity of Huechuraba. Already wehave seen some from the school attendour mission church that meets in theschool chapel. Lauren was asked by afew school moms to teach an Englishclass for the mothers. Lauren is hopingto use the Jesus film to teach this groupof possibly unreached people.

Thank you for the support you haveshown us with your love, prayers, andthrough giving to the world missionsoffering. Katie has already asked when“our people” are coming back. Like her,we look forward to continuing thispartnership with our 3BC family.

With much appreciation and love,

Matt and Lauren Vance
