Can we look at blood vessels today?
L Robson, University of Sheffield
Looking at blood vessels on the inside!
Angiogram

Why does blood move?
Heart beats 72 times every minute
Contracts
Squeezes blood out
Balloon modelL Robson, University of Sheffield
Heart is made of muscle cells
When the heart beats, heart cells
get smaller – they contract.
L Robson, University of Sheffield
Heart cells change size at the same time
When all the cells get smaller at the same time they make the heart
contract.
This squeezes the blood out.

What happens during exercise?
L Robson, University of Sheffield
Let us do an experiment!
L Robson, University of Sheffield
What happens
Faster heart rate Faster & deeper breathing
