You may not be aware, but liquorice allsorts were first produced, by accident, in Sheffield. The Bassetts factory can be found in Hillsborough.

This building is part of the University of Sheffield and was opened by the Queen Mother in 1966. The Paternoster elevator is said to be the largest in the world.
