DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

After Duo Duu in 2012 by Anu Sistonen, Dance development wishes to propose a new creation to younger audiences for the year 2016 . The young Jill Crovisier gets to choreograph the new creation called MATKA.

This time it is about travelling. Travel the world in its diversity, taking his time , discovering diverse universes where dance and music are intertwined, and also learning a lot from each other.

Through dance , music, circus but also with the art of “ Cyr Wheel ,” the characters (two dancers and one contemporary circus performer ) help the kids to discover the world, the beauty of a journey and way more. Join Max, Piera and Anthony from one corner

to another of the globe, and even beyond , further up there in the universe ...

The different atmospheres will be accentuated with the music by the composer Emre Sevindik, known for his sound design for theater, film and dance. It will support the travel moments, the emotions of the characters, and highlight different feelings while discovering the world.

The title is “MATKA” which means “journey” in Finnish. This is a short and simple title to pronounce. It embraces the theme of the playful, stands as an easy word to remember and it is also evoking the exotic, with its foreign sounding.

Luxemburger Wort, March 2016

« Une belle incitation à la découverte de l’ailleurs et de l’autre. »
