Master of Arts in Education (MAED) Major: Educational Management This course aims to equip teachers with the necessary

skills in educational management to enable them to assume positions of managerial responsibility in the school system.

Specifically, it aims to: 1. update and enrich teachers’ content knowledge in education-

al management; 2. enhance and expand teachers’ theoretical and technical

knowledge in teaching a specific subject area or professional area; and

Master of Arts in Nursing (MAN) Major in: Nursing Service Administration (NSA) Maternal and Child Health (MCH) This program educates professional nurses for advanced practice in nursing as clinical nurse specialists, nurse manag-ers, adult nurse practitioners, family nurse practitioners or psy-chiatric mental health nurse practitioners and provide a foun-dation for doctoral study in nursing. The curriculum includes the integration of nursing science, concepts and theories from relat-ed disciplines, along with practice and research. Opportunity is provided to pursue individual interests with respect to clientele and healthcare settings.

General Objectives

The Master of Arts in Nursing program is designed to prepare qualified nurses in the Philippines and abroad for clini-cal specialization, leadership and evidence-based nursing ma-jor in Nursing Service Administration and Maternal and Child Health. Both programs require the completion of a practicum and a thesis. The practicum provides students opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills they learned in the academic environment to the community, state, or public health institu-tions. The thesis provides students opportunities to study health problems in depth, using analytic and research skills. The program is intended for professional nurses to increase competence in various fields of nursing, including education, research and clinical practice.

Specifically, the Master of Arts in Nursing -Major in Nurs-

ing Service Administration aims to:

1. develop advanced knowledge and skills in the nursing service through application of nursing theories and principles, re-search and evidenced-based practice;

2. analyze economic policy, environmental, and social forces impact to health care delivery systems and quality of nursing services;

3. practice critical thinking about current problems and issues affecting the nursing administration and address health challenges;

4. demonstrate analytical skills in leadership, practice, policy analysis, teaching, research, program management and professional communication;

5. respect the inherent dignity, worth and individuality of every person in the practice of his/her profession.

and Child Health Objectives Specifically, the Master of Arts in Nursing-Majors in Ma-ternal and Child Health aims to: 1. acquire higher knowledge and specialization focused on

health care of women, infants, children, adolescents, and families;

2. respond to newly emerging issues and evidence-based prac-tice in maternal and child health including the unique needs of the diverse communities and cultures;

3. utilize competence and social justice concepts, community partnership development, and ethical standards in the maternal and child health practice and;

Master in Public Administration

(MPA) The MPA program is designed to enhance the skills, knowledge and managerial capability of qualified government officials and individuals to prepare them for further res-ponsibilities in government institutions especially in the implementation of public policies and development programs. Thus, it specifically aims to produce and develop professionals to become: 1. competent and well-versed in comprehensive manage-

Practice Teaching is offered to those who have completed all Field Study courses (Teacher Education Council, 2009: 68)

If the enrollee is already teaching, these can already be equated with the practice teaching class provided: Permits the teacher in class demonstration inside the

school; Submission of certificate of employment; and Faculty evaluation by the head of office. The scheduling of subjects can be arranged to meet the
