The MSc QFAS is
• practice-oriented
• future-proof.
We offer a program with all of the modern techniques
that are now being integrated into finance and
insurance.
Structure of QFAS program

• One-year program: 60 ECTS
• Seven courses (6 ECTS each) + thesis (18 ECTS)
• Choose at least four out of six core courses, and
choose up to three electives
• Premaster, if needed: custom-made
• Master thesis: typically on the basis of an internship.

• Valuation and Risk Management (fall semester)
• Empirical Finance (fall semester)
• Long-term Investments and Pension Systems (fall semester)
• Issues in Finance and Insurance (spring semester)
• Asset Liability Management (spring semester)
• Data Science Methods (spring semester)
Electives: wide range available.
Netspar track (specialization within QFAS)

• Netspar: Dutch national platform for research on
pensions and aging; headquarters in Tilburg
• Provides access to large network
• Netspar track is a specialization within QFAS (also
exists within a few other MSc programs)
• Requirements on courses, participation in activities,
and thesis topic
• Receive Netspar certificate with your diploma.
After graduation

• Broad choice of jobs in banking / insurance / pensions /
consultancy / regulation / …
and/or further study:
• part-time study towards “Actuaris AG” degree (EMAS
program at Tilburg Business School TIAS)
• Research Master in Business, Finance track (two-year
program, enter in second year), possibly followed by PhD
(three years).
