The M.Sc. Applied Geology under Faculty of Science is a well-balanced program designed to impart knowledge in

Geology along with specialization in mining geology, structural geology, engineering geology, paleo bio geology,

sedimentology, hydro geology and mineralogy. The modules would be taught by experienced and highly qualified

academic staff or experts in the field of Applied Geology. Each student must complete the core courses to gain basic

understanding about Geology and the application in which it is developed. Once completing the core courses,the

students can choose to specialize in research and development.The all-inclusive broad based training in

independent thinking, research and development, environmental development, advocacy, technology deployment,

manufacturing, societal aspects,and nation building related to the application of geo-science are necessary for

making transition into economy and to compete head on with the global workforce.

The programme of Master of Science in Applied Geology will produce Geologists who are able to :

• Describe the importance of theories and concepts of applied geology to work successfully by applying practicalskills.

• Design projects taking into consideration factors like ethical situation, social and organizational values forapplication of a broad range of geology concepts in education, business, professional services and governmentsectors.

• Identify technology critically and scientifically, to develop managerial skills about wider issues in constructionorganization for acquiring leadership roles to keep up with evolving technology.

• Utilize expertise of applied geology for problem-based learning for enhancing lifelong learning skills in keepingabreast of the developments in the industry by satisfying ever more demanding safety, sustainability andtechnological criteria.

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED GEOLOGY

Full Time : 18 Months

Part Time : 36 Months

Ÿ A bachelor’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Geosciences with minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent, asaccepted by the HEP Senate, Or

Ÿ Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Geosciences or equivalent not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can beaccepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant field.

Intake: 1.January, 2.May, 3.September

MASTER OF SCIENCE IN APPLIED GEOLOGY

The M.Sc. in Applied Geology,Faculty of Science is designed to provide the students, academic and technicalskills in

broad areas to enable them to find their niche in, government sector,public advocacy, legislation, academics, and

manufacturing. Students alsopursue further study such as PhD and work in education sector. Jobs related tothis
