Master of Real Estate Development Master of Real Estate Development (MRED) is developed through a collaboration with REHDA Institute. This programme is intended to provide the players or stakeholders in the property development or construction industry with exposure related to the real estate and property development sector. This programme aims to improve productivity, innovate new ideas towards achieving the highest standards of professionalism and advance best practices for the industry. The adequacy of knowledge, social skills and responsibilities, ethics, professionalism and humanities, communication, leadership and team skills, knowledge of scientific methods, critical thinking and problem solving skills, lifelong learning and information management ability, entrepreneurship and managerial skills are essential among the industry players and stakeholders. Therefore, these attributes are encompassed in the programme outcomes and will be essential for graduate to accelerate personal skills and competence for faster transition to senior management role in the workplace or pursuing higher degree. Programme Structure

The programme comprises of a coursework component and a project. The coursework component consists of 8 core courses and 2 electives assessed by a combination of continuous assessments and examinations. Continuous assessment includes individual and group assignment works, case studies, seminar , presentation and tests.

Who Should Enrol

Graduates of Architecture, Building and Property Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Land Surveying, Quantity Surveying, industry players and industry stakeholders who wish to upgrade their qualifications and to obtain further knowledge.

A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields with CGPA of 2.75 and above or equivalent as approved by the Senate; or

A Bachelor’s Degree in the field or related fields with CGPA of 2.00 and above but less than CGPA of 2.75, or equivalent as approved by the Senate subject to rigorous internal assessment.

Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree in the related fields or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by UTAR and meet the minimum CGPA set out in (1) & (2).

Entry Qualification Requirements

In addition to the academic attainment required for the programme, applicant must meet one of the following English Language requirements.

• IELTS Academic 6.0, TOEFL 600 or its equivalent• TOEFL iBT Score 60 -78• MUET Band 4
