The first reading and today’s gospel speak of hospitality, one of the key means of evangelization. We make people feel wel-come, comfortable, and valued. Abraham receives the three visitors and makes them the center of his concern. Are you aware when someone new is at church? Surely you notice somebody whom you have not seen before. Perhaps you don’t know if they are newcomers. What’s the differ-ence? If they are already parishioners you have gotten to know someone new. If they are visitors you have helped to make them feel at home. This is such an ordinary task, but the size of our communities frightens us. Yet we are a family of brothers and sisters. It is important for us to get to know one anoth-er. And let us welcome those whom we discover are here for the first time. There is a grace in this as well. Because of his hospitality, Abraham and Sarah are re-warded with a child. Being hospitable in-vites new life to come into a family, a com-munity, a church.

Seguramente te fijas en alguien a quien no has visto antes.
