Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time July 5, 2015 3

Celebration of

Our Lady of Mount Carmen (Brown Scapular)

Thursday, July 16th

8:30am Mass The Brown Scapular is a Roman Catholic devotion of

Mary under the title of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. It is

worn as a sign of love and devotion for the Mother of

God. The Carmelite Order to which the Scapular be-

longs, originated on Mt. Carmel in the Holy Land and

the Scapular is itself a reflection in miniature of the

habit (scapular: a sleeveless outer garment falling from

the shoulders) which the monks wear as a sign of their

vocation and devotion. On July 16th at the 8:30am

Mass, Fr Flynn will bless and enroll you and your Brown

Scapular. (Brown Scapulars will be available and

handmade Rosary Beads for you to take, plus readings

on the Brown Scapular ) All are welcome.

MARRIAGE MOMENTS Leave your spouse a sweet note...You’ll be amazed at the

power of the pen. If you head out of the house first, leave it on

their car. Or, hide a note where you know they’ll find it. A

friend of mine used the letters from a Scrabble game to create

a surprise note for his wife. “(from a Family Minute with Mark

Merrill) http://www.familyminute.com/

PARENTING POINTERS 7 Mistakes It’s OK to let your Kids Make
