OCTOBER 24 THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME 2021

30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

The world has cried a lot in these two years of pandemic. After so much suffering, God continues to invite us to change in our hearts. We have had a bad time, many families still mourn their relatives who lost the battle, thousands more are still looking for work. The struggle does not end and the hope in the midst of everything is that we return to God, just like the people of Israel in the first Reading: "They left in the midst of tears, but I make them return happy" (Jeremiah 31: 9). It is time to enjoy God's eternal love and mercy. Let's look at everything good and noble that we have learned in this time and let's work for a more just society. The Gospel also introduces us to God's love and compassion through the blind man from Jericho crying out on the side of the road. "Son of David have mercy on me!" The blind man is a symbol of all the suffering people in the world. Jesus asks him: What do you want me to do for you? The blind man's response: "Teacher, may I see." That is what we continue to ask: that we can see all the injustices in society, that we can dialogue and seek solutions together, in order to live in peace and tranquility and thus symbolically throw away the mantle and listen to his invitation: courage, have faith, get up. Jesus continues to call each one, because now it is up to all of us to see what we can do for those around us. Pope Francis sums it up like this: “Look at Bartimaeus and his cry of search for Jesus. Becoming neighbors on the journey of faith to accompany. Witness, paying attention to the disciples who address Bartimaeus only three words, courage, get up, he is calling you ”(10/28/2018). ©LPi

The Worldwide Marriage Encounter Experience is taking place this weekend, please keep in your prayers the couples participating, Father Ken and the team directing the Encounter.
