LOOKING AHEAD TO THE ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS SEASON It’s hard to believe that Advent begins in only a few short weeks! All Saints Parish has many opportunities to be

involved in this season of joyful anticipation of our Savior’s birth.

Advent by Candlelight - will take place Tuesday, December 3 beginning at 6:30 PM. This beautiful and enchanting evening, illuminated by candlelight, will help women focus on Christ, the true light of the season. Join us as All Saints social hall is transformed into a candlelight wonderland, complete with music, an inspirational program, delicious desserts & wine. Step away from the chaos of the holiday season. Relax and refocus on the season of Advent. There is no fee to attend, but you must register by Friday, November 29th. To register for the event call Carol or register at this link by November 29th: https://tinyurl.com/adventbylight. If you are willing to host a table, please call or email Carol Brennan by Nov 16th. 920-279-0604 or [email protected]

Lighting the Advent Wreath - Once again, we are looking for people who would like to come forward at the

beginning of each of our weekend Masses in Advent to assist in lighting the Advent Wreath. There will be a sign-up sheet in the gathering area.

Caroling for Christ - Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 14. We will have a hay wagon to transport

carolers through the city, singing and spreading Christmas cheer. Carolers will meet at the Fortifi Bank parking lot at 1:00 PM and end by 4:00 so there is time to come back for 4:30 Mass. All are welcome to participate!

Bell Ringing - Once again this year, we would like have bell ringers for the Christmas Eve Masses at 4:30PM

and 7:30PM; and Christmas Day Mass at 10:00AM. At each Mass we would like the bells to be ringing a half hour prior to Mass starting. So we would need families to be here at least 30 minutes prior to Mass starting. We have 20 pairs of red mittens, scarves, and bells so we are hoping to have a group for each Mass to help greet all parishioners by standing at the doors...ringing bells and greeting "Merry Christmas" to all who enter to join us to celebrate the Holy Mass. We will have pews reserved for our bell ringers. Find the link on our website to sign up.

All Saints Catholic School office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am - 3:30pm. SCRIP can be purchased at the school office during the week, or after the weekend Masses.

Dear All Saints Families, As you are all well aware, winter will soon be upon us, like this week!! We are once again asking for volunteers to assist with snow removal at the school to ensure safe access to the school for our children and staff. This year I would like to have a brief meeting with all volunteers to discuss scheduling enough help for each snow event. With enough volunteers, the task can be evenly distributed and accomplished efficiently. “Many hands make light work”. Please consider assisting us and allowing our past snow throwers to “pass the mantle”. If you are willing to assist ASCS with this task, even as a substitute, please contact Jana Dahms. Once again we thank you for all that you and your families do for our wonderful school! Please consider helping us!!! ~Jana

Our Mission Statement: All Saints Catholic School offers a Christ-centered education that develops the academics, morals, and values needed for students to reach their full potential as children of God.

It's not too early to begin thinking about Christmas—it's less than 2 months away! Many businesses give gift cards to employees as Christmas or thank you gifts. If you are a business owner or an employee of a company that does this, won't you please pick up a Scrip order form at the Scrip window after Mass or in the school office during the week and make your gift card/certificate purchases through our Scrip program. This would not cost you anything extra – you pay face value for the gift cards and you save time driving to pick them up. This is an easy way to support All Saints Catholic School without spending anything extra. We have many popular restau-rants/retailers available in stock and lots more that can be special ordered. Just a short sampling of what we have in stock include: Walmart, Kwik Trip, Crossroads, Websters, Shell, Subway, Jeff’s, Clem’s, Christianos, Amazon, and we’ve just added Riverside Coffee here in Berlin as well. Not sure what to buy? You can buy a Scrip gift certificate and the recipient can redeem it to purchase any of the gift cards we offer through our Scrip program. You can also visit the school website at school.allsaintsberlin.org and find the links to all the Scrip information and order forms. Please buy Scrip gift cards today!

SANTA’S WORKSHOP - The ASCS Parent’s Network will once again be hosting a “Santa’s Workshop” which gives students at the school an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping for their family. There will be a collection bucket in the gathering area for any contributions you might have. Thank you!

FAITH FORMATION

CATHOLIC FUNERALS WORKSHOP - The Diocesan Office of Worship is hosting a workshop about Catholic Funerals on Tuesday, November 12 from 1-3 p.m. at Holy Name Heights (702 S. High Point Road in Madison). Patrick Gorman, director of the Office of Worship, will lead this session. This informational session is for those who wish to learn more about Catholic funerals and related rituals and who may even wish to consider a plan for their own funeral. Each participant will receive a copy of Now and at the Hour of Our Death which offers guidance in plan-ning your own funeral. This seminar is free of charge. A free-will donation of $3 to offset the cost of the booklets is appreciated. The workshop will not address other end-of-life issues, living wills or estate planning. Please register by Nov.11 by calling the Office of Worship (608.821.3080) or emailing [email protected]. You also may register online at madisondiocese.org/funeral. This is also an invitation for those who have already experienced a TEC to come and help by working. Fr. Eric Sternberg will be the Spiritual Director and Steve Davies is the Director (608.220.2088 or [email protected]). Sunday, October 27th, a bus sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Men's society left All Saints Catholic Church, to hold prayer vigil outside the abortion clinic on Madi-son's east side. Father David blessed the bus and the 34 prayer warriors on board for their safe travel and prayer mission that afternoon. Father commented on the commitment of the

group and the enthusiastic support by the youth, saying: "It's the up and coming generation that's

going to be able to bring about change. Previous generations have not succeeded. I'm

not saying we haven't tried, but we haven't succeeded. We pray for our youth.''

Sixteen youth were among the group, some of whom rode the bus that afternoon, as well as additional parish members and UW-Madison

students who joined the group once they arrived. This comes in conjunction with the

nationwide Pro-life march up to the steps of the Supreme Court.
