MARKETING IN A CHANGING WORLD
The 2019 Consumer Healthcare Marketing Event is a new conference and networking event for anyone involved in marketing consumer healthcare/OTC products.
This two-day international event – organised by the OTCToolbox website – focuses exclusively on the interests of consumer healthcare/OTC marketeers.
A programme of highly-respected speakers will address the theme of Marketing in a Changing World during five sessions on Key Trends, Marketing in a Digital World, Taking a Consumer-Centric Approach, The Evolving Retail Landscape, and New Ideas Better Ways.

TECHNOLOGY PERSPECTIVE – Hugo Soul of Google
This European event covers a broad range of consumer healthcare/OTC products such as non-prescription medicines, self-care medical devices, skin health products, and vitamins, minerals and supplements (VMS).
There will be plenty of time for networking during the event, including at the Networking Drinks Reception and Networking & Awards Presentation Dinner on the evening of Thursday 28 November 2019.
Winners of the OTCToolbox Consumer Healthcare Industry (CHi) Awards will be announced during the Networking & Awards Presentation Dinner. The CHi Awards for Lifetime Achievement, Self-Care Initiative of the Year, Regulatory Achievement of the Year, European Marketing Campaign of the Year and European Launch of the Year will be presented on the night.

Andy Tisman is Global Senior Principal, Consumer Health at IQVIA. Andy joined IQVIA in 2005 with a strong industry and consulting background including more than 15 years at SmithKline Beecham.
Manfred Scheske is Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Infirst Healthcare. Manfred previously spent 25 years with GlaxoSmithKline’s Consumer Healthcare business where he led the European, North American and German businesses.
Hugo Soul is Global Business Leader for Consumer Healthcare at Google, leading worldwide partnerships with the OTC industry across digital media, marketing technology and enterprise data solutions. He has worked in Google’s London, Paris and New York offices, with a focus on growing digital capability to enable clients to grow in the face of a rapidly-changing consumer and tech landscape.
Peter Brady is Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Orbital Media. Peter says the business, which was established in 2003, was “born out of a passion for developing emerging technology for marketing purposes”.
Kai-Markus Mueller is Professor of Consumer Behaviour at HFU Business School, as well as Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the research agency The Neuromarketing Labs. Kai has applied NeuroPricing in a variety of industries, working for clients such as Audi, Bayer, Kärcher, Merck and PepsiCo. His work has been featured by Der Spiegel, Forbes and Businessweek.
David Gray is Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner of Creative Leap, the multi-disciplinary brand and communications consultancy specialising in consumer health and wellness. The company’s work encompasses market, category and consumer insight, as well as brand positioning and proposition development, innovation, identity, packaging design and communication.
Birgit Schuhbauer is VP Global Franchise Self Care and EMEA Self Care at Johnson & Johnson Consumer. Birgit has been with Johnson & Johnson Consumer for 12 years, and previously worked for Pfizer. She has also been president of the Association of the European Self-Medication Industry, the AESGP, since 2016.

Alex Gordon is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sign Salad, a leading cultural insight agency specialising in semiotics. Alex has been working in cultural insight as a commercial semiotician for 18 years. He and his team work globally on all strategic and creative brand challenges with blue chip companies including GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly and Abbott. He has a PhD in Semiotics and Identity Politics.
Sarah Sowerby is the Founder of WordBird, a multichannel healthcare communications agency that has “creative, compelling copy at its heart”. Sarah says she speaks “fluent doctor, nurse, midwife, dentist, pharmacist, consumer, patient and mum”. She is Chair of the Healthcare Group within the UK’s Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) and sits on the Associate Member Committee of the UK’s Proprietary Association of Great Britain (PAGB).
Jo Spink is Founder & Creative Strategist at the healthcare communications specialist Spink. Jo says she has a “passion for getting under the skin of consumer behaviour and understanding how and why we behave as we do, and what the triggers for change are”.
James Hall is a Regulatory Specialist at OTCexperts and a Director of Jenson R+. James has in excess of 25 years of regulatory experience in the OTC industry. His background covers a wide spectrum of areas including regulatory strategy and implementation, reclassifications, borderline products, promotional copy approval, medical devices and pharmacovigilance.

Christian Rebholz is a Partner in the Munich office of Simon-Kucher & Partners and a member of the global Consumer Healthcare practice within Simon-Kucher’s Life Sciences activities. Christian has managed projects for leading international companies as well as local “hidden champions”.
Bart Dobbelaere (left), Bernard Lemaire (centre) and Mike Van Ganse (right) are key members of the management team at Vision Healthcare, which is positioned as the “emerging European number one clicks and bricks consumer healthcare company”. Vision Healthcare takes an omnichannel approach, connecting with end consumers through a range of channels including e-commerce, marketplaces such as Amazon and Alibaba, social media, influencers, mail order, catalogues, home parties and teleshopping.
Sahaj Kothari is the founder of Ensere, powering e-commerce for brands across 26 markets in Europe. “It’s official,” says Sahaj, “retail store footfall is in decline, while more consumers are going online. Our purpose is to become the catalyst for consumer brands to survive and grow in the digital age.”
Anna Maxwell is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Maxwellia, a startup seeking to convert a portfolio of medicines from prescription to OTC status. Anna says she is passionate about widening access to medicines and is building Maxwellia to make it happen.
Lucy Kirkup is Business Development Manager at TerraCycle Europe. TerraCycle works in partnership with companies to develop recycling systems for previously non-recyclable waste that would otherwise go to landfill or incineration. Partners include Johnson & Johnson, Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, RB and Teva.
Nick Dormon is a Founder of ECHO, an independent innovation and design company founded in 2004 which aims to “create and develop brands that are compelling, useful, caring and environmentally responsible”. ECHO’s clients include HRA Pharma, Nestlé and Unilever.
