DefinitionMarketing is the entire process wherein the
buyers and sellers interact with each other for the purchase and sale of goods and services.
(Or)Marketing is described as performance of business activities that direct the flow of
goods and services from producers to consumers.
Marketing Activities Marketing includes many activities that are performed
even before goods are actually produced.
In addition, marketing includes activities that are
performed even after the sale of product such as
maintaining customers relations and collecting feedback.
What can be marketed?Anything that is of value to the other can be
marketed.Examples :-•Physical products - TV, mobile phones•Services - Insurance, Education•Person - Selection of different posts•Place - Agra, Taj Mahal•Events - Fashion show, films festivals
1. Needs and wants: •Wants – Human needs shaped by factors.• Identify needs of target customers•Develop products/services that satisfy such needs
2. Creating a market offering: •Market offering - Entire process of introducing a
product in the market keeping in consideration the needs of the buyers. •Purpose- to induce customers towards purchasing the
product.

3. Customer Value: •A product will be purchased only if it is perceived to be
giving greatest benefit or value for the money. •Marketer – Add to the value of the product so that the
customers prefer it in relation to the competing products and decide to purchase it.
4. Exchange Mechanism: The process of marketing involves exchange of products and services for money or for something of value to them.
