But how to apply this on yourself? For this we will redefine marketsegmentation according to the personality.“Dividing your broad personalityinto subsets of traits, skills, qualifications, experiences, knowledgeand capabilities for those who havesimilar needs”
In segmenataion the whole market isdivided into parts or segments. This makes it easier for buyers and sellers to identify each other.Market segmentation is done by sellers in order to sell their products/services to the buyers. Through this they can easily reach totheir customers easily and effectively.
Difficult to understand personalitysegmentation?Well here is the thing, Follow these steps:Step 1:You will brainstorm about yourselfand note all the points. Mind mappingis one of the famous tools that canbe used for similar purpose.
You
Goals
Areas of interest
Character
Qualification
SmartCreative
InnovativeObjectives
Aims
BBAMBA Marketing

Once you are through mind mapping, you will have a heavy set of resourcesand capabilities.Step 2:You can now segment yourselfin 2 different portions, that is leftbrain and right brain. So what are these portions?A human brain is divided into 2 different areas which tends to developnaturally as per the person’s environment. Many people tend to confuse their core competencies due to lack of understanding of their mind, they tend to jump here and thereon the basis of what they think is good.
Analytical Creative
Artistic
Colorful
Imaginative

Verbal
Objective
Rational/ Mathematical
Logical
Now jot down the points that youbrainstormed about yourself in therespective brains and find out wheredo you fit in and what core competencies you have. According to the mind map that we made, it reflects to us that those qualities fall in the right brainedsection, which means your CV shouldnot look like a confused brain, ratherit should reflect your core competenciesas a right brained person and that youknow who you are.
Left Brain Right Brain
Application of 4 P’s in accordance toyour personality. PLACE:After segmentation you will be ableto figure out yourself and the nature ofjobs you should target for.Since you know the nature of jobs you should look for, here is achecklist that would help you filter the job options to an extensive level.
Where do youwant to work? Who would
you like to work for?
Which placewould be mostsuitable for you?
What are those companieswhich will useyou properly?
Which placeneeds a guy like you most?
This will help you in analyzing thatwho you should go for? whether thosewho advertise positions or the companies whom you really want to work for. The decision of place will give adirection to you and also to your CV. Many people make a CV in a generalway, because they are unsure of themselves and the company they want to work for. Identifying the place will force you to make CV as per your core competencies in accordance to thetargeted company’s vision and missionand also according to company’s natureof work. It will also help you in makingyour CV as per their requirements, hence making you a valuable candidate for the respective company.
PRODUCT:Employees are an asset and a livingproduct for companies, they see youas someone who can help generaterevenues and bring happiness to the company. Normally before buying and using anyproduct you acquire information aboutit. Information can be physical and verbal, depending upon the nature of a product. Therefore every product needs set offeatures that can satisfy the users,in the very same way you as a productshould have a set of features that cansatisfy the company. Your CV should answer the 4Ws and 1H.
WHAT? WHY? WHICH? WHERE?HOW?
What does employer want from you?
Which place do you fit in?
What can you bring to the company?
What features do you possess to satisfy the needs of the company
How and where the companycan use you?
What is the most you can provide?
Why shouldthe companyhire you?
Questions your CV must answer

Your CV is a package for you that tells about you as a brand. You will have to brand yourselfwith creative and informativepackaging. Your CV should reflect youas a product with powerful package. Over here your CV will be a brand for you, its name, the terms used in it,the design, its symbolizations and any other feature that would make you different from others.
YOUR ONLINE NETWORKSSocial media is powerful marketing tooland can do wonders for you. Social media can speak for you half of the story.Your CV should be so powerful that it makes the employer follow youronline networks.Digital persona is very essential especially when it comes to promotion,it lets people know that how popular, credible and smart one thing is.
PRICE:By price we mean value, price for anyproduct reflects the amount of valueit contains and the amount of time, resources and hardwork was spent in order to come up with a certain finished good or service. Same is the case with you. When you are applying for a jobthe employer sees you as a finished good that would benefit him in different ways.To analyze your own worth fromthe company’s point of view, here is a short exercise that you can do.From the marketing point of view it is called perceptual mapping. Its a visual representation of thepotential that a product contains. This exercise will help you realize yourworth as an individual and a potentialemployee from company’s perspective
From marketing perspectives valueis determined with this ratio:Value = Benefit : CostSince you are not a product in the clearsense, you can use anything for a value. For example,Value = Character : QualificationValue = Benefit : QualificationValue = Qualification : Experience

As you can see we have chosen the as the most viable characteristicsfor a person, although is also a viable characteristic but not the most viable. The blue one will turn outto be the best for the companysince they are getting much more benefits as compared to the red one, although the qualifications of bothare same.We have not chosen the because theemployer might feel that these benefitsare temperory and may not last long enough since the person’s qualificationare very low.
In comparison to the otherthe green will always be dropped. CV should give an exact perceptual andpositioning visual to the employer.Apart from the qualifications and experiences he is watching out thatwhat benefits can you provide to thecompany, that is where you willhave to win his eyes. The same way can be done forcharacter and qualification depending uponthe nature of job.
In the end dont be afraidof rejection, remember youwill get what is written for you and what youdeserve. Have a big heart, never lose hope and keep on trying.
