VibeThere is a clear theme of black and white, which gives the magazine a classy and pure look. The only colour used is the heart on kanye’s jacket which makes the stands out on the page and looks strong and vibrant.

The use of the V in the background brands the magazine and tells you that it is Vibe even though it is not on the front cover.

The boldness of the word ‘contents’ stands out from the grey dull colours of the rest of the page and makes it highly visible.

The Font and style of the words ‘features’ and ‘Fashion’ makes them stand out so the reader can easily identify the types of articles in the magazine the font also makes the magazine looks classy.

The purpose of the bare and plain background is to make the model stand out from the rest of the magazine and make It the main attraction

Vibe magazine looks at fashion and music and the image of Kanye's west fits into both categories.

Hip HopPage has three main colours probably sticking to the theme set on the front page.

Only having three main colours makes the page have a minimalistic look to it.

Page numbers are displayed in red with the articles written in black clearly distinguishing between the two.

Articles are written in bold capitals with a little info beneath them in lower case this again makes the articles stand out from the rest of the magazine and make them easily distinguishable.

The lack of bright colours and clutter makes it so the image is the main focus on the page as the article about the image is also the main focus in the magazines

ConclusionsIn both contents pages there is a very dominant image which is linked to the main article in the magazine. All articles are shown down the right hand side of the magazine suggesting this is where it would be best for me to feature them should I decide to make a hip hop magazine.

ConclusionIn indie/alternative magazines the page is magazines title is always shown on the top left this means if I was to do this genre of music for my magazine i would have to feature this. Also the main and sometimes only image on the page is always of the featured article .
