PERFORMANCE F A C T S H E E T 2012 ISLAND POWER PROJECT LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT MARINE POWER www.marinepowerng.com v On 25 May 2011, the Island Power Plant commenced operations with an installed capacity of 10MW in the Marina, Lagos Island area. The plant is managed and operated by Marine Power Limited. v The fastest executed independent power project in Nigeria, the project is a Public Private partnership between the Lagos State Government and the private sector. v Using gas-fired engines, the Island Power project supports the following public buildings and services: General Hospital, Island Maternity Hospital, High Court, High Court Annex, the Magistrate Court, the State House, the E-learning entre, the inner and outer Marina streetlights and streetlight installations on 20 streets within Lagos Island. v The project also includes an 18km dedicated underground distribution network that guarantees power delivery to these public buildings. v The Island Power project has significantly improved the reliability of power supply and plant availability currently stands at 99.9%. v At the end of July 2013, additional installations will be added to the Island Power network. These will include: Massey Children's Hospital, Onikan Health Centre, Dolphin and Onikan waterworks, Campos Stadium, Lagos Island LCDA, the Palace of the Oba of Lagos, Boys and Girls Junior and Senior Academy Sura, Ebute Elefun Junior and Senior Schools, Epetedo Junior and Senior School, Lafiaji Junior and Senior High Schools, Dolphin Junior and Senior High Schools, Okesuna Junior and Senior High Schools, the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) loading station Ikoyi and 15km of additional streetlights.
