Maria Antoinette married at the age of fourteen in 1770 with Louis XVI of France, the Dauphin, who was about the same age.

Marie Antoinette earned the antipathy of the French people, who accused her of spending the people's money.

They said she was promiscuous and that she influenced her husband in favor of Austrian interests. Not in vain she won some awful nicknames like "Madame Deficit" and "Austrian wolf".

Young, beautiful, intelligent and with an impressive pedigree

the arrival of the Habsburg heir also fueled the jealousy of the small world of Versailles nobility and its multiple and dubious alliances; and she was afraid to not get used to their new life. On May 10, 1774, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette become the kings of France and Navarra, but their behavior didnt change much.On December 19, 1778, Marie Antoinette gave birth to her first child, a girl, Maria Teresa, called "Madame Royale". On October 22, 1781, was born Louis Joseph, the Dauphin (named Jos Luis Javier Francisco). On March 27, 1785, was born their third son, Louis-Charles (Louis XVII), Duke of Normandy. On June 9, 1787, their last child was born, Sofia Beatriz (Beatriz Helena Maria Sofia), who died at one year old due tuberculosis (July 19, 1788).

"Let them eat cake" On this basis and considering that France had lost millions because of the endless parties and overspending lifestyle of the queen, the people demanded the death of the queen and her husband.

Louis XVI was brought to justice on December 26, 1792, and the Convention voted for his death, being executed on January 21, 1793. On August 14, 1793, Marie Antoinette is brought to justice to face the Revolutionary Tribunal. On October 16, Marie Antoinette is taken to the guillotine. She left a will to his sister, giving custody of their children so they can grow up in an atmosphere of royalty. After her death, Marie Antoinette became part of Pop Culture and a major historical figure. Some academics think her behavior, frivolous and superficial, helped to increase the agitation during the French Revolution.
