Exploring London, eating out and West End theatre are the things I love to do most out of office hours. It is therefore no surprise that my career in property has followed a path that encapsulates London and leisure. My inspirational place is Covent Garden. As someone who loves eating out and theatre, it has always been a special place for me. When I joined DCL in 2006, my very first instruction was working with Shaftesbury PLC on the Opera Quarter (a relationship that continues to endure) Covent Garden’s historic food quarter, famous for its café culture and set in the heart of theatreland; and even after all these years I still find myself totally exhilarated by that pre-theatre buzz, wandering its charming streets, people watching on the Piazza and dining out in the fabulous restaurants, bars and cafes that now populate Wellington Street, Henrietta Street, The Market Building and Seven Dials. Over the years my remit has extended to the Covent Garden Estate, St Martin’s Courtyard, Seven Dials and St Martin’s Lane where I have had the privilege to see the area evolve to a highly desirable place to go for Londoners and visitors alike, whilst working on some of my favourite restaurants, bars and clubs; and advising on a theatre or two. As with Covent Garden, a general passion for London and the leisure sector, forensic market and technical knowledge, a deep- seated appreciation of property and its surroundings and thoughtful consideration of the interplay between various stakeholders allows me to work across London on some of its most exciting buildings, estates and locations.
